President Joe Biden will be turning 82 not long after Election Day, and that he's been our nation's oldest president really shows. It's just one of many issues to come up as he's supposedly still running for reelection. Regardless of how the other issues turn out between now and November, Biden objectively isn't getting any younger. Now that it's officially 2024, Biden has been on the campaign trail, mostly ranting and raving about supposed threats to abortion and democracy, though as he's done so, he's really let his age show, and not in a good way.
At the start of last week, Biden had us wondering if he was an election denier or a senile old man, though he's quite possibly both. Speaking at a "Restore Roe" rally in Manassas, Virginia on Tuesday, he gave a shout out to former Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D), referring to him as "the real governor of Virginia." While he was governor from 2014-2018, he was defeated in the 2021 gubernatorial election by now Gov. Glenn Youngkin (R).

Biden also served up some confusing word salad as well, declaring to the cheering crowd what ended up being how "we’ll teach Donald Trump a valuable lesson: Don’t mess with the women of America unless you want to get the benefit."
Even when clarified by the White House transcript, it still doesn't make much sense.

The following morrning, the Biden reelection campaign held a press call. When asked a question about the president's age, they tried to spin it as a positive, which appears to be a tactic for them. Campaign Communications Director Michael Tyler offered that Biden has been governing "with the wisdom, the judgment and experience that comes with his age" and that "he's also doing it with the empathy and the decency to complex situations demand," adding "that is why the American people elected him in the first place and that's why they'll reelect him again."

But what we saw days later over the weekend was even more alarming. Nick Arama at our sister site of RedState was kept quite busy highlighting all of Biden's worst moments.
One that really stood out is Biden referring to Trump as the "sitting president," even though he had also referred to him as the "former" president throughout that same speech. It was one of the many lines from Friday night's event in South Carolina that the White House transcript had to correct.
This one's particularly alarming. Does Biden still think it's 2020 or even 2019? Perhaps he's acknowledging that Trump has a real shot of beating him this time, although that Trump is running again is why Biden's said he himself is running. Biden certainly acknowledged that last March, when he referred to Trump as "the former president and maybe the future president."

Another alarming moment, as Matt also highlighted, is how the president mentioned his son, Beau Biden, who died in 2015 of brain cancer. The president has bad many eyebrow raising tidbits when it comes to his late son, but his comments made in South Carolina really took the cake. As he angrily ranted about the likely Republican nominee Donald Trump supposedly calling veterans "suckers" and "losers," he got emotional about his son in such a way that he was suggesting he was supposedly killed in Normandy.
"If I had you running in front of me when I was playing at Delaware, I could've been All-American, man," he also said about playing football, going for a line that's not only awkward and cringeworthy. He was directing his comment to a black man.

Biden isn't just causing concern when it comes to letting concerns with his mental faculties show. He's also reverting to debunked narratives in order to make Trump look bad. The timing was even more unfortunate, given that it was also this weekend that we learned that three U.S. service members had been killed by Iran-backed terrorists in Jordan.
As one of the lies that just won't die, Trump's opponents claim that he referred to those buried at Normandy as "suckers" and "losers" and also said he didn't want to see them during a 2018 trip. It was debunked, but that hasn't stopped Biden from repeating this and other lies, such as the also debunked "very fine people on both sides" comments regarding the white supremacy rally in Charlottesville from 2017.
Speaking of shameful timing, the president's X account was still posting even after the tragic news broke, that included calling out Trump using that debunked narrative.

As an aside, Biden certainly isn't the only one who has had some shockingly bad moments. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre has had a history of embarrassing moments, but as Spencer highlighted earlier on Monday, she had a particularly cringe moment even for her when talking to MSNBC about the U.S. service members who were killed.
"What I will say, our deepest- obviously our deepest condolences go out- and our heartfelt condolences go out, to the families who lost three- three brave- uh three brave- uh three brave- three folks who are military folks who are brave, who are always fighting, who are fighting on behalf of, uh, this administration, of the American people obviously more so, more importantly, we lost those souls," she sputtered.

Can we expect more of these moments from Biden? Almost certainly. Again, he isn't getting any younger. Later on Monday, Jean-Pierre confirmed as much during the White House press briefing, as she spent a whole lot of time saying very little about Biden being president wherever he travels.
