Vice President Vance Vows to Honor Charlie Kirk by Continuing to Debate Ideas

Doug Mills/The New York Times via AP, Pool

Vice President Vance was in Howell, Michigan, today at Hatch Stamping to tout President Trump's economic plan and "deliver remarks on President Trump's tax cuts for working families and businesses."

As our Scott McClallen wrote:

Vice President J.D. Vance visited Howell, Michigan today to tout tax policy.

He toured the Hatch Stamping facility in Livingston County and then spoke for about 30 minutes to a packed crowd.

The company offers tool and die services, stamping, welding, engineering, assembly, and wire and tubular service.

Hatch Stamping has locations across Michigan and the country. It serves customers from Michigan to Tennessee. to Mexico and China. The manufacturer currently has 59 stamping presses, 115 welding cells, 105 robots, 5 e-coat lines and more to fulfill the needs of automotive manufacturing, according to its website.

Vance said that Trump will make America great again by bringing manufacturing back to the US.

On Monday, Vance guest-hosted "The Charlie Kirk Show," where he said we must confront the political violence and inflammatory rhetoric from the Left.

It is refreshing to see Vance take a leadership role on this issue after the Left has spent the past week demanding Republicans "tone down the rhetoric" as CBS's Nate Burleson did on September 11. At the same time, the Left has either ramped up the inflammatory rhetoric -- as Wisconsin Rep. Mark Pocan did recently -- or Graham Platner, the Democratic Senate candidate in Maine, said he wanted to "batter" Republicans, including his opponent, Susan Collins.

When they're not calling Republicans "extremists" and "Nazis" they're denying the reality of the motives of the alleged shooter, Tyler Robinson. Yesterday, Scott Jennings shredded his fellow CNN panelists for refusing to address that violent rhetoric, telling them, "I think it's dangerous and irresponsible for nobody to take responsibility for 10 YEARS of the use of the language 'fascism, Nazis, authoritarian,' so on and so forth! It's on the BULLET CASING." Jimmy Kimmel is facing consequences with the FCC for blaming MAGA for the murder of Kirk. And ABC's Matt Gutman apologized after calling the text exchange between Robinson and his partner as "touching."

But it's the remarks Vance made about Kirk and the importance of debating ideas that stood out during his visit in Michigan. Charlie Kirk devoted his life to debating ideas and issues, to reach across the political divide to educate and inform voters from all walks of life.

His entire statement says, "People don't realize how integral he was, how important Charlie Kirk was...I speak for every person in this room, and I think I speak for a majority of our fellow Americans when I say we do not attack or commit violence against people because we disagree with their ideas."

So while the Left celebrates murder, denies reality, and continues the attacks on Republicans, Vance is vowing to continue debating while countless Americans peacefully mourn the death of Kirk.

The contrast between the parties couldn't be clearer.
