Your 'America First' Congresswoman Is Now Doing Propaganda For Russia

There continues to be a major difference between President Trump’s conception of what it means to be “America First” and how some so-called conservatives have begun to use the term. For figures like Tucker Carlson, Candace Owens, and now former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene, being “America First” appears to mean something closer to “Russia First.”

Greene, as of Thursday, has continued to cement her status as a grifter after she was interviewed by Russian state media, and slammed President Trump as a “lame duck” president and someone who protects pedophiles, a line of reasoning characteristic of those in her circle.

"I believed the president when he said that there would be no more wars in other countries and that he would strive for peace. But since he's become president, he's gone in a completely opposite direction," Greene said. "And this is something that I can no longer support, especially after he fought me, especially after he started to fight me because I was persistently trying to publicize the Epstein Files."

"I am on the side of raped women and children, victims of pedophilia, and I will always fight against what I consider to be the strongest evil in the world," she continued. "The extent of his support has significantly decreased because he refused to fulfill his promises that he made to the American people. Is he a lame duck? Yes. He is turning into a lame duck, and after the election to Congress, we will see it even more clearly. But at the moment, the Republican majority is at his disposal in the House of Representatives and the Senate, and he controls the situation as the President of the United States."

Similar comments from her and others, including soon-to-be former Representative Thomas Massie, contributed to their falling out with the president and the broader Republican Party.

This highlights a cautionary note for those who strongly embrace the term “America First,” as the phrase appears to morph for some from “America First” into “America Only,” and then, in some cases, into “Russia First,” “Islam First,” or even “Israel Last.”

Thankfully, this group appears to be largely sidelined within MAGA, although supporters of the president should be careful to ensure these figures are unable to co-opt the movement for their own benefit.
