The Enemies of the People

The media are the enemy of the people.

There was a time, of course, when I wanted to be a journalist for The New York Times or the Washington Post. But 25 years ago, when I started college, things in journalism were different. Not great, but orders of magnitude better than what they are now. In fact, I remember how my journalism professor, who also oversaw the student newspaper, laid out the case for why journalists should abstain from voting. Yes, she acknowledged it was their right, but protecting the integrity of the profession and their own credibility was paramount.

She'd probably be run out of town on a rail today.

There are two big stories from this week that prove just how disgraceful our media have become. I've long said they're propagandists and stenographers for the DNC, but now they are active colluders in two of the biggest scandals in this nation.

First, we'll start with former President Joe Biden. Yesterday, the tapes he recorded with Mark Zwonitzer, his ghostwriter, dropped. They revealed what most of us have known for a while: not only was Biden's brain basically tapioca pudding back then, but Biden also leaked classified information to Zwonitzer for his book "Promise Me, Dad."

Biden repeatedly admitted to Zwonitzer that he retained classified documents, and Biden admitted he didn't know which documents were and weren't classified as he shared them with Zwonitzer. "Some of this may be classified, so be careful," Biden said. Zwonitzer erased many of those recordings because he was afraid of being hacked after a special counsel was appointed to investigate Biden.

We're still waiting for the tapes and transcripts from Special Counsel Robert Hur's interview to drop after the D.C. Circuit Court denied Biden's bid to block the DOJ from releasing them. Hur said after his investigation that Biden was a "sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory."

Remember when Hur made that declaration before the 2024 election? The media lost their minds trying to defend Biden. On July 2, 2024, the New York Times, the Associated Press, the Washington Post and CNN all ran cover for Biden, calling videos of the confused president "misleading," "deceptive," and "deceptively cropped."

So the AP, Washington Post, NYT, The Hill, and CNN all published articles dismissing concerns over Biden’s appearance within just the last few weeks.

Now all of these same outlets are publishing stories about how these concerns are real and ongoing.

CNN's Hadas Gold spoke to White House reporters about why they didn't cover Biden's obvious mental acuity problems and her finding was it was "complicated."

Alex Thompson posted on X that Biden explained his poor June 27 debate performance on traveling around the world.

Never mind the fact that Biden hadn't been out of the country since June 15, almost two weeks before that debate.

Thompson would later go on to write a book about Biden's cognitive problems with Jake Tapper, who famously attacked Lara Trump for criticizing Biden's "stutter."

Numerous Democrats came out and told the media that Joe Biden was cognitively just fine. "Sharp as a tack," they said. Not one person in the media attempted to fact-check these baseless claims or—heaven forbid—actually look into Biden's cognitive health on their own.

They were all fine with a mentally unwell Biden winning reelection, so he could spend the last four years of his life drooling into a cup while his staffers and the AutoPen ran the nation.

That's just Scandal Number One.

Yesterday, I wrote about the Fauci diaries, released by Sen. Rand Paul. Those diaries revealed a great many things about what a rotten, egomaniacal, unscientific man Fauci actually was, but it also revealed how the media was in collusion with that self-centered little toad as he worked to destroy countless lives and our economy.

Fauci was friendly with CNN's Dana Bash, who texted Fauci to laugh about a Vanity Fair article in which they said Republican Rep. Jim Jordan "trip[ped] over his own a****le trying to debate Anthony Fauci."

CBS chief medical correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook colluded with Fauci before LaPook's interview with CBS Morning News and would later go on to produce a glowing "60 Minutes" profile on Fauci.

Lena Sun of the Washington Post called Fauci to verify reports that the Chinese government pressured WHO head Tedros Ghebreyesus not to declare a public health emergency, and Fauci bragged in his diary about getting Sun to spike the story.

Good Morning America Host George Stephanopoulos texted Fauci after an interview in which the latter "brushed off" criticisms of President Trump. "Thank you. So impressive," Stephanopoulos wrote in that message. Andrea Mitchell from NBC was "very apologetic" to Fauci following a miscommunication over booking.

But the most damning relationship is between Fauci and CNN's Jake Tapper, who had a "friendship building" and shared dinners at the same time Fauci was keeping schools, bars, and restaurants closed and telling other Americans not to celebrate Thanksgiving with loved ones.

Fauci admitted in his diary that COVID likely came from a lab, admitted he was responsible for getting New York and California to enter lockdown, and his diary is proof that everything he said publicly was a lie said in service of his political agenda.

That's Scandal Number Two.

So, to recap, in the past week, we've had confirmation that not only was Joe Biden cognitively unwell but that he'd retained and shared classified information with his ghostwriter, and that Anthony Fauci lied about everything he said regarding the COVID pandemic.

The media did nothing—nothing—to look into any of this, to question it, to report on it. They only cover it when their hand is forced, either by reality (e.g., Joe Biden's June 27, 2024 debate performance) or when the story blows up on social media, like the Fauci diaries. And only then they cover it to engage in massive CYA.

Jake Tapper, who had no problem chiding guests who questioned Biden's cognitive health, went on to write a book about it and make a lot of money off his journalistic malpractice. Then he was best buddies with Anthony Fauci while Fauci was knowingly, actively harming Americans.

This is because Anthony Fauci was the anti-Trump. Democrats and their media allies lap that up, without question. That's why they wanted Michael Avenatti to run for president in 2024, and he turned out to be a scumbag who swindled his clients, a move that landed him in prison. There isn't a person too rotten, too corrupt, that the Democrats wouldn't embrace if they felt he was going to stick it to Trump. And there isn't a story they wouldn't smother with a pillow if they felt it would help them in that goal, too.

That's why they propped up Joe Biden for so long, and it's why they treated Anthony Fauci like the god of science.

These are scandals. True and genuine scandals that did untold damage to America's economy, America's children, America's trust in its institutions. They make Watergate look like a picnic in the park, and the saddest part of all is nothing will happen. In a sane world, Jake Tapper would be fired. As would Dana Bash and George Stephanopoulos and every other so-called journalist who used their platform to push the agenda of their preferred political party.

The media are not just biased, and they're not incompetent; they are active, willing accomplices in the greatest deceptions of our time—propping up a cognitively unwell president while he mishandled classified secrets and his staffers ran this country, and elevating a power-hungry bureaucrat who lied us into lockdowns, ruined livelihoods, and shattered trust in science itself. Until every one of these stenographers and propagandists is held to account, stripped of their platforms, and forced to face the public they betrayed, they remain exactly what they have proven themselves to be: not a free press, but the enemy of the people.
