Hollywood hates President Trump. Well, they used to love him until he became a Republican. After that, he was persona non grata with the celebrities in L.A. It's part of why California and other states are trying to block the Paramount/Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD) merger. Paramount Skydance CEO David Ellison has ties to President Trump, and that's an unforgivable sin on the West Coast. Never mind that Hollywood is going the way of Detroit, thanks to Democrat policies and failed leadership.
They'd rather see the city fail, and with it, thousands of low-level writers and production staff lose their jobs, than allow what they see as a win for President Trump. That's why this story is so funny, in an ironic way: President Trump is asking Congress to give Hollywood tax breaks to save the industry that loathes him.
The President posted about it on Truth Social.
The President wrote, "Hollywood is a Complete and Total Disaster! Despite the name, it is getting very little work. There is no incentive to be there, and it is hurting California very badly. Jon, and many others in the Industry, are suggesting we do Federal Tax Incentives in order to Make our Movie and Television Production Business GREAT AGAIN, perhaps GREATER THAN EVER BEFORE! The amount of money spent on Tax Incentives will be made up tenfold by the money pouring into the Treasury’s coffers. Meetings are being set up with the Leaders of both Parties in order to get this done. It should be Bipartisan, especially since so much money is being lost in California, and other largely Blue States."

President Trump wants to make Hollywood great again — with a federal tax break.
On Monday, Trump called on Congress to quickly approve a nationwide tax incentive for film and television production, throwing his weight behind a rare bipartisan push to lure entertainment jobs back to the US.
“I am going to suggest that Republicans and Democrats get together, and immediately craft Legislation to save the Movie, Television, and Entertainment Business in America,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
“Congress should approve, immediately, a Federal Production Incentive to create Entertainment Jobs in America.”
The president’s endorsement — following a meeting with Los Angeles mayoral candidate Spencer Pratt — could provide a major boost to an idea being championed by an unlikely political cast that includes conservative actor Jon Voight and Democratic California Sen. Adam Schiff.
We're sure not everyone will be on board with this. There will be celebrities who would rather see Hollywood burn than get help from President Trump. They just reelected Karen Bass, after all, the woman who wanted studios to hire homeless people as production staff (what could possibly go wrong there?).
All the trouble Hollywood is facing is self-inflicted: bad scripts, woke casting, a loathing for half of Americans (and therefore half of its audiences). We'll see what Congress does on that, but in the meantime, it'll be fun to watch Democrats squirm.
