The other day, Michigan's Democrat U.S. Senate Candidate Abdul El-Sayed was unable to say how he'd get his Medicare for All scheme to become a reality. That's probably because he didn't want to admit what we all know: "free" healthcare requires massive tax increases on all income levels. There aren't enough millionaires and billionaires to foot the bill for healthcare for millions of Americans.
But El-Sayed finally said our taxes will go up, and tried to frame it as a good thing.
Abdul El-Sayed admits that Medicare-for-all involves raising the taxes on all Americans regardless of their income level and ending private health insurance:

"A lot of Americans worry that you can only make Medicare free and universal if you increase taxes. So if you are elected and make this push, would you need to increase taxes?" Kristen Welker asked.
"As I've said, across this campaign, I am for taxing billionaires on their wealth," El-Sayed replied.
"What about people who make less than a billion and less than a million dollars, though, Dr. El-Sayed?" Welker asked. "What about people making less than a million dollars?"
"So for the average person, and you look at your W-2, if you're an employee who gets paid every two weeks or every four weeks, after you pay your taxes the next biggest check that comes off the top of your pay stub is to your health insurance company," El-Sayed said. "So imagine instead of paying to your health insurance company whose CEO makes $20 million a year, instead you paid a little more in taxes for healthcare that you wouldn't lose if you lost your job or turned 26 or got married or got divorced."
"I think all of us would be a lot more interested in that kind of a system if we knew that our healthcare would be free at the point of care and would be free without having to worry about losing it in general," he continued. "So there's an opportunity here to trade what we give to a big corporation who gets to decide who we get to see and who we don't, for a little bit more paid into FICA and I think that's a trade that's worth making."
So it's not free. You're paying more in taxes to a government that wanted to deny unvaccinated people healthcare during COVID.
Understand that guys like El-Sayed would get to determine who gets healthcare and who doesn't. Racial, political, and religious considerations would be used to ration care.
Yeah we pay the health insurance company because they actually turn around and pay some of our health care bills. It’s not perfect and could most definitely be better but it’s silly to act like the money just goes into the CEO’s pockets.

Giving Leftists control of healthcare is the point. When a company denies your claim, it's a crime. When they do it, it's business as usual.
So you want bureaucrats making all the medical decisions for you. If you disagree you’re out of luck. Now if you want a service you can pay for it. Also hospitals will go out of business and societies will retire. Where will people go for care?

And a "little bit more" in taxes is a lie. His scheme would require a 32 percent payroll tax or doubling federal income tax rates.
