It's Biden's Pandemic Now

It’s been more than six months since Joe Biden became the President of the United States and there’s no more denying that what’s happening with the Delta variant of the Wuhan coronavirus is all his administration’s doing.

Even though President Trump and Vice President Pence handed the Biden administration everything it needed to get Americans vaccinated and back in action, Joe and Kamala failed to rise to the occasion their offices demand. The result is the relapse to pre-vaccine panic we’ve seen amid fearmongering over the Delta variant. But mismanagement of the pandemic didn’t just start this week. It started on January 20, 2021.

Confusion over masks marked the first half of Biden’s tenure so far, as the President appeared sometimes in a mask, sometimes maskless, and his administration debated allowing freedom and personal responsibility to take hold in fits and starts.

Vaccinations — made possible by the Trump administration’s Operation Warp Speed — were assigned murky goals as discussions of herd immunity were seemingly influenced, again, by Dr. Fauci’s apparent belief that he knew best what information Americans could and could not handle. The Biden administration missed the goal it had set for a percentage of Americans to be vaccinated by summer but moved the goalposts saying it was just an ambitious target and Biden’s plan had worked.

Americans’ vaccine hesitancy at this point, too, is as much the Biden administration’s fault as anyone else’s, thanks to confusing statements from the CDC and insults from President Biden himself. The vaccines work, they say, while also urging vaccinated people to wear masks and suggesting mutations may soon evade the vaccines' protection. “You’re not nearly as smart as I thought you were,” our supposedly unifying President says of Americans who are not yet vaccinated.

While the Left attempts to blame conservatives, Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell is using campaign funds to run public service announcements urging Kentuckians to get vaccinated. Fox News’ primetime hosts are pushing their millions of viewers to protect themselves. At the same time, liberal outlets rarely challenge Biden administration officials or health experts on the seemingly contradictory guidance they issue.

Regardless, Biden enjoyed significant air cover from liberal media during what was apparently a honeymoon phase for his fledgling administration despite an abrupt departure from Afghanistan, economic policies that spurred inflation, massive spending bills, and more press conference fumbles than can be counted where the press saw everything from unnerving whispering to angry yelling.

Candidate Biden promised Americans that if they gave him the chance to lead our country, his administration would build our country back better, defeat the Wuhan coronavirus, and get America’s economy working again. And while, thankfully, COVID cases, hospitalizations, and deaths continue to decline, that’s because the American people had a vaccine available to them in record time that simply wouldn’t have existed without the Trump administration. Despite claims that there was no vaccine before he took office, both Biden and Harris were fully vaccinated while Trump was still in office. It’s the Trump-Pence vaccine that’s saving lives, not a Biden-Harris vaccine.

Now as local governments begin returning to pre-vaccine requirements and the CDC reversed its guidance on masks for even fully vaccinated Americans in some locations, cracks are forming and the honeymoon is over.

New mask requirements are being driven by panic over the Delta variant of the Wuhan coronavirus — something that the Biden administration owns entirely. Because despite pushing for more mask mandates and shaming the unvaccinated, the White House doesn’t seem to have a problem with ever-growing numbers of illegal immigrants pouring into the country without adequate testing or medical background information. Even worse, the Biden administration is busing and flying those illegal immigrants who may or may not have COVID or be contagious to cities around the country. The result is a COVID crisis for which Biden is directly to blame. His open border policies are drawing people from Mexico, Northern Triangle countries, and increasingly more countries into America’s interior en masse.

“Biden Is Starting to Slip” admits even The Daily Beast. “He promised ‘independence’ from the virus, swore that inflation was ‘transitory,’ and claimed the border crisis was ‘cyclical,’” laments their senior columnist. “The main culprit is the Delta variant that has upended hopes of having turned the corner on COVID-19,” he explains. If the Delta variant is indeed what is keeping America from making a full rebound out of the damage wrought by the Wuhan coronavirus, then Joe Biden is to blame for America’s continued languishing. It’s his pandemic now.
