Nick Kristof of the New York Times has created a new breed of Israeli dogs.
There was a time long ago in a distant galaxy when I used to read the NYTimes opinion page. Before Obama, there were here and there some interesting thought pieces, but with the rise of Obama, the articles became unreadable. Thomas Friedman, Paul Krugman, Maureen Dowd and the rest became leftist partisans and oftentimes admitted as much. Krugman, the erstwhile Nobel Laureate, wrote a tome, Conscience of a Liberal, as if lefties actually have a conscience. The one person whose work I could not stomach was that of Nick Kristof. I always found his positions to be anti-Israel and also written by someone who didn’t have too many neurons upstairs.
A former college roommate mentioned that he recently attended a local Harvard Club event in Oregon, and lo and behold, native son Kristof was the speaker. He talked about the scourge of addiction and its challenges in Oregon. He also mentioned that he owns a winery. It reminded me of the armchair ice cream multimillionaires, Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield, who fight for lefty causes from the comfort of their air-conditioned existence. Kristof isn’t in the trenches, but he wants to pretend that he is and that his scribblings are important and relevant.
Kristof has set the Israeli and Jewish worlds on fire by accusing Israeli soldiers — and their dogs — of raping Palestinian security prisoners. These guys, hopefully, will soon have public trials and be executed for their roles in the October 7, 2023, pogrom in the south of Israel. Kristof used the seventh-grade method of determining an outcome of a writing assignment and then looking for sources to prove whatever point he wanted to make. His sources include known Israel haters and pro-Palestinian dreck. So what was Kristof the winemaker’s purpose? It was to blunt an actual, thoroughly researched report on Hamas’s organized, pre-planned sexual violence against Israeli women. Thousands of videos and interviews produced a definitive work on what the Gaza garbage did when it attacked Israel. Just as Tony Blinken invented a letter with 51 intelligence experts/traitors to blunt the reality of Hunter Biden’s laptop, Kristof and the Times invented an “Israel rapes Palestinians” false narrative exactly one day before the real “Gazans are a bunch of deranged rapists who continued even after murdering Israeli women” report dropped. Oh, they’re bad and they’re bad. So let’s not give the Israelis the moral high ground. They all rape, so who is to say that the Jews are better than the Muslim terrorists? Do you want to taste my new Zinfandel?

The Democratic Party and its louts in the media and the US bureaucracy are organized like a Borg. Each one has his or her marching orders on how to destroy what we really like as America. A clown prosecutor in Georgia invents charges against Donald Trump. The whole thing exploded, but she did her job. Ditto for Blinken and his 51 bandmates: they produced the “Russian disinformation” document just in time for comatose Joe Biden to blurt out that 51 frauds said that the laptop was Russian propaganda and not the property of his depraved son. The FBI knew otherwise, but nary a word came from the anti-Trump leadership of what was once the premier law enforcement agency and not just a Stasi lookalike. The Times wrote already back in 2016 that objective journalism was passe in the age of Trump and that all writing — not just the opinion page where Kristof dumped his rubbish — had to have the effect of preventing Donald Trump from becoming president. We have to destroy democracy and the free press in order to save democracy! I can’t read anything in the Times anymore. The Wall Street Journal is not far behind, with Rupert Murdoch’s loathing of Trump seeping into every headline of how well Iran is doing and how strong China is.
Each person, organization, and functionary on the professional Left has a job to attack Trump, his people, his international friends and his tens of millions of patriotic American voters. Kristof and the NYTimes don’t care if his doggie ate my prisoner story is true; it served its purpose of making Israel, Bibi Netanyahu, Jews writ large, Zionism, Zionists, and the IDF look bad. This was a grand slam for them. Israel is threatening to sue; I hope that they do and that they get to discovery to see the internal discussions of this Protocols of Doggie Zion piece. Please recall that a simple op-ed by Senator Tom Cotton (R-AR) sent the entire newsroom into a tizzy and led to an editor’s departure. So much for “All the news that’s fit to print.” As my cousin said 30 years ago, “All the news that fits, we print.”
While many people wail about the lack of bipartisanship or the intense, bitter feelings in politics, the Kristof Winery’s article shows the reason why. The article is a lie and a fabrication about IDF soldiers. Did he mention the female IDF soldiers abused by the Hamas prisoners? Did he reference the widespread sexual violence of Hamas against Israeli women of all ages during the 2023 pogrom? When the other side is lying in order to destroy you and your side (How can we support Israel and the IDF when even their dogs are sadistic?!), why should you be extending your hand in peace? Weak-kneed Republicans like Mike Pence and Mitt Romney don’t understand that the great age of working together, being mild in one’s politics and the like is over. The other side has one goal only: to take and hold power. They will stop at nothing, including throwing Donald Trump into prison and accusing Israel of crimes worse than those of Hamas, if that helps them get into power and keep it. The Republicans are still talking about the SAVE America Act because they believe in laws and democracy and the Constitution. How quaint. The Democrats only believe in exercising raw power, and they don’t care if they have to lie, cheat, and alter election results to win and destroy their political enemies. When John Fetterman is the rule and not the exception on the Democrats’ side, then there can be bipartisan work.
Nick Kristof has always come across to me as one who hates Israel — as opposed to say Tucker Carlson, whose hatred of the Jewish state and everything associated with it seems to have come only in the past few years. Palestinian security prisoners are accused of terrorist crimes. In this case, these are Hamas “Nukhba” prisoners who murdered more Jews in one day than at any time since the end of the Holocaust. Israel should have killed them within a month of the attack. A quick field trial and then a wall and a bullet. That’s how things were done in World War II, and our predecessors from that generation did not lose sleep over killing SS soldiers trying to pass themselves off as civilians. What Kristof said is a lie, just as the accusations against Trump have been shown to be lies. For the left, truth is like a napkin — use it when you have to. Otherwise, the goal is to take power, and part of the process involves destroying your enemies. The NYTimes has spent decades writing against Israel and bending truths in order to fit predetermined narratives. The Times’ day as “paper of record” is long gone. It is no more accurate or useful than the scandal sheets placed strategically near the checkout at your local supermarket. It still rests on its ancient laurels, but it does not care about truth if said truth gets in the way of its lefty/WEF/Muslim Brotherhood program. I wonder if Kristof’s wines are as lousy as his journalism.
