California Allowed a Man to Compete Against Women at a Track and Field Event. Here's How Trump Reacted.

This week, Townhall reported how a male athlete who thinks he is a “trans woman” annihilated the competition at a women’s track and field event in California.

The athlete, AB Hernandez, 16, took home gold in the girls’ high jump and triple jump, according to several reports.

Hernandez competed against women despite the fact that President Donald Trump signed an executive order earlier this year banning men from competing in women’s sports.

In an interview with a local news station, Hernandez and his mother brushed off the ethical issues that arise from the fact that he's a boy competing against girls.

This week, Trump vowed to impose hefty fines on the Golden State for allowing the transgender athlete to compete against women.

“A Biological Male competed in California Girls State Finals, WINNING BIG, despite the fact that they were warned by me not to do so. As Governor Gavin Newscum fully understands, large scale fines will be imposed!!!” Trump wrote on Truth Social, calling out Gov. Gavin Newsom.

In March, Newsom admitted on his podcast that he believes it’s “deeply unfair” for men who think they are women to compete in women’s sports.

“I am not wrestling with the fairness issue…The issue of fairness is completely legit,” he said, as Townhall covered.

“These poor people are more likely to commit suicide, have anxiety and depression,” he said of transgenders, adding “the way that people talk down to vulnerable communities is an issue that I have a hard time with as well.”

“Both things I can hold in my hand. How can we address this issue with the kind of decency that I think you know is inherent in you, but not always expressed on the issue?” he said.
