Sanders Campaign Counter Punches: Hillary Is Using 'Karl Rove'-Like Tactics

The battle brewing between the two headline-making Democratic presidential candidates, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, reached a new level this week when Clinton (and her daughter) challenged Sanders’ plans for health care.

Should Sanders beat her to the Democratic nomination, Clinton claimed the party would be forced to “rip up” the Affordable Care Act and start all over – a similar warning she issued against a Republican White House.

The Sanders campaign responded to Clinton’s attacks with surprising disgust.

“Clinton’s attacks on a Democratic Party rival over universal health care marks a very public flip flop by her and her campaign," Sanders' team said. "She is now using the same Karl Rove tactics she once decried in this video.”

Joining the Sanders team in its counter punches against Clinton are several left wing groups. Charles Chamberlain, the executive director of Democracy for America likened Clinton’s attacks to “bald faced lies.”

Other progressive groups have chosen Sanders over Clinton, including MoveOn.org, Communications Workers of America, and The Working Families Party.

Endorsements aren’t exactly famous for changing voters’ minds, so they’re an unlikely explanation for Clinton’s increased attacks against Sanders. If you’re wondering why Hillary, the Democrats’ darling, is getting nervous, you’d find better answers by looking at the polls.
