The Trolling of Mamdani Begins

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is young enough to know how the Internet works. Or you'd think. Mamdani held a Twitch livestream, and it seems the guy running America's biggest city doesn't know how to hire a few chat moderators.

Here's more:

The internet trolls had a ball.

Chronically online Mayor Zohran Mamdani was given a hard lesson on how livestreams can go wrong — as trolls bombed Hizzoner’s weekly Twitch chat show with a hail of penis drawings.

The 34-year-old mayor had touted the show as the next iteration of FDR’s famous Fireside Chats — but the unmoderated questions quickly devolved from softball questions to hardcore porn imagery.

Mamdani sat alongside NYC TikTokker Moose on the streaming platform Twitch, fielding questions like “where can you get the best tacos” before a near seizure-inducing stream of unmoderated comments appeared on the right side of the screen, with users posting random comments.

The decorum of the chat quickly devolved — as the unfiltered internet users repeatedly posted images of erect penises with the caption “Do you like what you see?”

It's perhaps fitting that Mamdani is comparing himself to FDR. No one did more to turn the government into a socialist scheme — thus extending the pain of the Great Depression — than FDR. His New Deal policies helped create the massive, choking bureaucracy we have today, much in the same way Mamdani's socialist ideals will create a massive, choking bureaucracy that will drive all New Yorkers into poverty.

It's clear not everyone is feeling the 'warmth of collectivism.'

That's exactly the point. While this may be mildly amusing, it reveals a much bigger problem. Mamdani and his team do not know how to run a livestream. How can they be trusted to run the city?

They can't. And they know it. That's why Mamdani lied about fixing the city's budget deficit, using some socialist math and fiscal smoke-and-mirrors to mask the deficit. That's why the number of antisemitic incidents has skyrocketed, including the raising of a flag featuring the Star of David and swastikas over NYU during graduation. That's why crime remains uncontrolled, and Florida realtors are reporting a spike in New Yorkers relocating to the Sunshine State.

And we're only five months into Mamdani's term.

The only saving grace here is that New York's mayor is term-limited. But if the city is this big a dumpster fire after five months, it'll be a smoking ash heap in eight years' time.
