Back in July, I wrote about the "Athens to Venice" cruise, which left Greece on July 5 for a whirlwind tour of the Mediterranean. The all-gay cruise was denied entry to the Turkish port town of Kuşadası on July 7 and to the Egyptian port of Alexandria on July 9.
The following week, the Left blamed President Trump and Republicans for what two Islamic-majority nations did to that cruise.
Now Turkey is arresting hundreds of LGBTQ activists in a major crackdown.

What will it take for Leftists to wake up to the real threat Islam poses to them?
I get it: they hate America, Trump, and Republicans so much they'll align with anyone they think might assist them in destroying all three. But they should be careful what they wish for, because they're making a deadly alliance and we're already seeing the LGBTQ community marginalized by it.
Three years ago, the Muslim-majority council in Hamtramck, Michigan, voted to ban pride flags on city property. Leftists felt a "sense of betrayal" over the move as Muslim residents erupted in cheers over the council's unanimous vote. One post even called it a "Fagless City."
Last fall, we learned New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was friendly with a Ugandan politician, Rebecca Kadaga, who wanted to jail gays for life. Mamdani's imam pal, Siraj Wahhaj, said gays are the "disease of society" and told followers to "defend against these homosexuals." And Mamdani's father, Mahmood Mamdani, waged war on a gay professor, Stella Nyanzi. The elder Mamdani padlocked Nyanzi's office, withheld her pay, and pushed her out of his department at the university.
More recently, Melissa Chaudhry, who is running for Congress in Washington's 9th District, admitted she removed her LGBTQ platform from her campaign website so as not to offend Muslim voters. But don't worry, she reassured gay voters that she'd still vote to protect their rights. I call B.S. on that. If you're not willing to put the policy on your website lest it offend Muslims, there's no way you're going to vote favorably on LGBTQ issues when Muslim votes are on the line.
And earlier this month, two gay Antifa activists were shot and killed outside a gay nightclub in Arizona by Ousman Ceesay, an Islamist who had a list of other LGBTQ-associated businesses he may have been planning to target. The shooting was classified as a hate crime.

The whole notion of "Queers for Palestine" is one of the most mind-boggling political stances I've ever encountered. Has the Left become so brain-rotted (to steal a phrase from my 13-year-old son) that they don't realize what they're saying? Have they been so indoctrinated by the media, professors, and politicians that they believe Islam won't do to them what it's done to gays publicly for years? Or are they so deeply mired in knee-jerk politics that they have to align with anyone who might oppose President Trump or Republicans without thinking about the future consequences?
Whatever it is, it doesn't lead to anything good.
I have issues with the LGBTQ agenda, of course. I oppose the gender mutilation of children, the trans agenda of erasing women, and the violence inherent in that movement. But I also have gay friends and loved ones who deserve to live their lives in peace. Many of them vote for Democrats, and they're being sold out by the very party that claims to care about them.
Sure, the story today took place in Turkey, but we've had several examples here on our own soil that show Islamists aren't going to coexist with anyone, least of all the gay community. And I'm sure the Left will blame President Trump and the Republicans for this, again.
But from Kuşadası to Hamtramck to NYC to Arizona, the pattern is undeniable: Islamist politics treat gay people as second-class citizens who have no rights. Leftists who keep chanting "Queers for Palestine" or blaming Republicans for anti-gay sentiments of Muslim-majority nations are not protecting themselves, their friends, or their cause. They're selling out to an ideology that will never reciprocate tolerance and coexistence, and eventually what's happened in Turkey will happen on our shores.
