I live in Southwest Georgia, but my head has spent the last week in Buffalo, New York. The allegations leveled against the public school system there by an SVU detective on a popular podcast just keep getting worse.

For me, as a parent and a survivor of childhood sexual assault, this hits close to home, as does the fact that my late father spent most of my life with a police uniform on.

But let's not get things twisted. This isn't unique to Buffalo. Detective Rich Hy and his friends on the "Unsubscribe Podcast" have been informed of numerous other examples of this. I, personally, have been made aware of some that may or may not be on their list.

And it's not just these allegations, either.

All around us, we see evidence of there being a war on our children. Not for our children, but on them.

From California, hiding issues from parents and then snatching those kids away if they don't agree to invasive and irreversible procedures to an organization called B4U-ACT that's trying to normalize pedophilia, our children are in terrible danger.

Couple that with broader issues such as the opioid epidemic, other avenues of child exploitation, including every parent's nightmare from the 1980s being realized, to illegal immigrants harming our children in oh-so-many ways, and we've got a major problem.

Then we have the history of how the teachers' unions did everything they could to keep schools shut down during the pandemic, even as pretty much everything else opened back up without issue. They had to know this wasn't the best way to teach kids and get them to learn, and yet they did it anyway.

Protecting our children should be the one issue that we, as a nation, should find common ground on.

But while the left screams their mantra of protecting our children when it comes to pushing failed gun control schemes, they're strangely silent about literally everything else...if we're lucky. In far too many cases, they're downright opposed to literally everything we could do to end this war on our kids.

As a commentator, I try very hard not to be alarmist. I try to be reasonable. I don't always succeed, mind you, but I do try.

But I can't. I just can't find any reasonable way to look at the actions of today's Democrats in defending the worst atrocities they can find, all visited upon children, all while they try to pretend they're the moral ones.

Few, if any, on the left are decrying the effort to rename pedophilia to "Minor Attracted Persons" or anything of the sort. They are, at best, silent on the subject.

Instead, they claim that "gender-affirming care" is an effort to protect children. Unfortunately for them, the Department of Health and Human Services has shown that to be complete and total BS.

They will, as noted before, claim that gun control is about protecting children. Of course, they ignore that no one in the school is armed, thus making schools attractive targets for mass murderers. That's a little too close to the bone for them, I guess.

With just about every policy, they harm our kids.

I can't just accept this as an accident.

No, it's war.

But now, it's time to turn this war on our kids into a war for our kids.
