Nikki Haley's Campaign Hits Rock Bottom

Someone, please save Nikki Haley from herself. I feel like we need to contact the producers of A&E’s “Intervention” because this woman has an addiction, and she’s about to hit political rock bottom.

I can understand why the former South Carolina governor thinks she must carry on, given the heaps of liberal cash that’s stuffed her war chests, but it’s over. New Hampshire was the primary where it was her shot to stop Trump, and she failed. There weren’t enough Democrats to save her. With only 25 percent of New Hampshire Republicans voting for her, the writing is on the wall regarding how she gauges with the GOP base. They want this woman to get lost quickly.

Was she going to win second place? Of course. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis struggled in the Granite State and graciously dropped out before Election Day. But Haley, after getting waxed, vowed to fight on, delivering an election night speech that read more like a victory. It got under Donald Trump’s skin, who lambasted Haley as an imposter for trying to declare victory. She’s already lost Nevada; on February 24, she’ll get skinned alive in her home state. Is there any reason laden among this chaos?

During the New Hampshire Primary coverage, former Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) was blunt about the state of Nikki’s campaign. It’s dead, and there’s no path to victory for her. Gowdy said that Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is the most popular South Carolina politician, and he wouldn’t have beaten Trump. Voters in the Palmetto State also view Haley positively and think she was a good governor, but there’s one problem: they won’t vote for her.

It must drive Haley’s team up the wall because, personally, everyone seems not to mind Ms. Haley, but when picking presidents, they’re Team Trump. Nikki Haley is about to splinter into a thousand pieces if she keeps this up. She will be blown out by at least 25 points, maybe more, when voters head to the polls in South Carolina on February 24. There’s still time for her to bow out. Yes, someone should hold an intervention for Haley, but then I forgot—all her staffers are liberals who’d instead go down with the ship like her.

The one thing the Trump alternative camp failed to recognize heading into this phony primary was the strength the former president had on the base. There’s nothing wrong with what Haley or DeSantis did in the running, but when the polls remained stagnant for months, and neither side could break past 30 percent consistently, if at all, the game was over. And that development came after dumping tens of millions of dollars campaigning. These two had Iowa all to themselves, and Trump still won by a 30-point margin.

At least we won’t have to deal with any Haley veepstakes talk, as Trump nuked that idea from orbit. I guess we’ll have to watch the rest of Haleyville die from radiation poisoning.
