The southern border remains in crisis, but Republican governors are ensuring Democrat-run states and cities shoulder their share of the burden. The border states and towns have attempted to soak up the porous border for at least a generation. They're putting illegal aliens on buses and sending them to New York City, Martha's Vineyard, and Chicago. Some even showed up near Vice President Kamala Harris' residence. Liberals want illegals to flood the country but don't expect them to arrive at their front door. The GOP helped accelerate that trend, but it was inevitable.

Now, there are so many that it's starting to bust the budgets of these cities. Martha's Vineyard hilariously called its situation a humanitarian crisis because fewer than 50 illegals showed up on the island littered with mansions. Rich, white liberals don't want poor, brown people living with or near them, but they will exploit their radical backgrounds to increase their power on the Hill.

It's reached a crisis point, especially in New York City and Chicago. Residents of the Windy City were irate over a $51 million bill to help house illegal aliens. The Big Apple is doing something more radical: potentially forcing illegals to house in private residences. They're already housing them in schools, which has tested the patience of city residents. They may not be immigration hawks, but they don't want hordes of illegals clogging up schools, homes, and other public areas.

Fox News and others reported on what NYC Mayor Eric Adams said yesterday:

As we continue to tackle this humanitarian crisis, I'm proud that through this new partnership…New York City's faith community will be able to provide shelter to asylum seekers in need at houses of worship throughout the five boroughs.

He said he would float paying landlords and homeowners, but who would take it? First, it'll be a pittance for the service. Second, these liberals don't want these illegals around. I wish I could empathize, but they voted for this by electing Democrats.

Kevin Drum, a former blogger for the lefty outlet Mother Jones, summarized the shift in immigration perfectly. It's nothing that the right did. For years, the consensus was if the GOP just moderated a bit, they could become competitive with Hispanic voters. Instead, it's the Democrats who have become so insane that they've forced centrist and independent voters to look to the Republicans to get things under control. Suggesting that homeowners open their doors to people who shouldn't be here is tone-deaf and could blow up the Democrats' entire platform on this issue.

They're going to force them into our homes. That's Democrats in power. Numerous weddings and vacations have been ruined as hotels replace reservations to house more migrants in these cities. It's no longer a talking point: Democrats treat illegal aliens better than citizens, and that game will not last, even with the most ardent liberals.
