On a cold day in February 1952, a crowd of 21,000 gathered in Baoding, Hebie province China, to watch the “trial” and execution of two people. Not unusual in Mao Zedong’s China of the time, except for their identities—two high ranking members of the Communist Party. They were both sentenced and shot. “Only if we execute the two of them can we prevent twenty, two hundred, two thousand or twenty thousand corrupt officials from committing various crimes,” Mao said. “Their deaths were meant to serve as a warning to others in the party.” (Frank Dikötter, The Tragedy of Liberation, Chapter 8, “The Purge”)
The above was only the beginning of more slaughter, this time of CCP members. The “purge” always happens. After they silence “counter-revolutionary” opposition, Leftists eliminate (usually after charges of “corruption”) all “unreliable elements”—that is, those actually naive enough to have believed all the “egalitarian” rhetoric. “Socialism!” “Egalitarianism!” “The Great Revolution!” Folks, Leftist “revolutions” are never about these things. They are only about power, and so, to keep down opposition from “true believers” who really want “equality”, they line them up against the wall and shoot them, too. Read about Stalin’s Great Terror in the late-1930s. American Democratic Party “true believers” who think it will be different here are in for a rude awakening when their back is against a wall facing a firing squad. I’m warning you liberals in advance. But I know you won’t listen. Remember me at your last breath.
My first three columns in this series very briefly introduced readers to historian Frank Dikötter’s trilogy of books on Mao Zedong: The Tragedy of Liberation, Mao’s Great Famine, and The Cultural Revolution, although I only quoted from the first one. (To the cynical, no, I’m not Dikötter’s agent, he doesn’t even know I have written these articles.) I do encourage as many as possible to read Mr. Dikötter’s books (mine, too!) because they will help one to understand exactly what Leftism is and does, and what they will do if they ever get totalitarian control in the United States—the Democratic Party’s dream. I know they will do it in America because they’ve done it everywhere else—and, they must do it in to keep power. The majority will reject them otherwise.

What I have reproduced from The Tragedy of Liberation is only a small part, a very small part and actually the smallest, of Mao’s killings. Dikötter’s other books provide ample evidence. I’ve only touched the hem of the garment in this series. Any decent American will be horrified and repulsed by the history recorded in Dikötter’s writings. And learn great lessons. And, hopefully, draw the proper conclusions and flee the Democratic Party.
Of course, Leftists who push for such a revolution are not “decent” by any definition of that word. Not surprisingly, liberals don’t like Dikötter’s books because he exposes one of their gods, Mao Zedong, and their heaven, the People’s Republic of China. They can’t deny Dikötter’s literally thousands of examples because they come straight out of the archives of Chinese provinces. So, as one Leftist said, Dikötter’s history is at fault because it “did not offer a credible explanation of why Mao and his colleagues acted as they did”—as if there might actually be a legitimate reason for the mass murder of 60-70 million innocent civilians, including children as young as six years old. But that’s Leftism. There is ALWAYS a reason for mass killings of innocents. Bill Gates and the WEF have a “credible explanation of why” they want to wipe out half of humanity. Thanos in the movie Avengers 3. “Just think of how much better planet earth would be if all the people I don’t like weren’t on it anymore.” All Dikötter did was tell what happened in China under Mao and that is more than the Left can stand. That MUST be hidden from the masses. By controlling the American media and education system, Leftists have done just that.
It is only fair to note that this kind of Maoist mass murder—the huge numbers—is not currently going on in China. The opposition is now cowed, though party “purges” still take place (Xi Jinping does it all the time). Life in the cities is relatively good (the countryside is still enmeshed in poverty), but the people are submissive, brainwashed, and life is acceptable. So, there is no need for mass murder on a Maoist scale, though government murder does still take place (Uyghurs, forced organ harvesting, etc.). But there is absolutely no doubt that, given the necessity, Xi Jinping would use the same methods Mao did (remember Deng Xiaoping and Tiananmen Square in 1989, thirteen years after Mao’s death). It’s inherent in Leftist philosophy.
The communist system in China is not ready for collapse, as happened in the late 1980s in the USSR. Gorbachev, though he tried, couldn’t prevent it. China isn’t to that point yet where communism will fail of its own accord and under its own intrinsic contradictions and errors. Frankly, that could occur at any time; nobody expected the downfall of the Soviet Union when it happened. But—and much thanks to greedy American business stupidity and government blindness—China appears fairly stable at present. Xi and the CCP will never voluntarily give up power. They would (and do) terrorize the populace back into obedience. Kind of like what the Democratic Party is trying to do in America today by claiming “dis-“ and “misinformation” campaigns, censoring of opposing views, using government agencies to threaten and arrest opponents, etc. That’s how it starts. The killing—if necessary and possible (given enough power and control)—would come later. That’s the repeated history of Leftist, totalitarian governments of the 20th century, and it will be the history of the United States if they ever get the same kind of power.
