Since 2000, Jerry DeBin has owned a consulting company specializing in marketing, PR and communications for clients in the environmental, wildlife conservation, and sporting goods industries. Additionally, throughout 2007-09, he served as Marketing Director for Academy Sports and Outdoors, coordinating the public face of the company. He also directed business development and lobbying for the company's PAC.
Prior to that, he served 17 years for the State of Alabama in senior leadership roles and liaised with the Governor. His team led PR and education for five agencies comprising the Alabama Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. After helping form ADCNR's non-profit foundation, Jerry directed its business development. Other duties performed for the Governor included speechwriting, planning press conferences and coordinating special events to recruit new industry and promote tourism. During that time he served for six years on the local school board.
He has been married for 30 years to his high school sweetheart, Dayna, and they attend First Baptist Church in Katy, Texas.
