Democrats are ridicules, but they’re also effective at raising money. In electoral politics, cash is king, so Democrats are always in good shape. Sure, most of their money comes from rich donors and large corporations, but they ask everyone for as little as a buck to lower their “average donation” to something they can pretend is an indication of grassroots support from “the little guy.” Actually, we’re dealing with Democrats here, so it would be “the little person” or trans or whatever. Who can keep up?
One common theme from Democrats in the fundraising game is the need to “STOP” those dastardly “MAGA Republicans.” What constitutes a “MAGA Republican”? Anyone who disagrees with them.
It used to mean a Trump supporter or a populist Republican, but Democrats bastardize everything and aren’t big fans of words having set definitions, so they’ve changed it for everyone. Their voters are better trained than Pavlov’s dog to recoil in horror at the mention, then reach for their wallets and max out their credit cards to the party. It’d be gross and exploitative if they were people I cared about. Now it’s just funny.
Well, funny and sad. Sad because you look at these appeals and have to wonder how insane or dumb someone has to be to fall for it.

“In about 72 hours, we’ll close the books on a critical October fundraising deadline,” an email from the Biden/Harris 2024 campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez reads (as an aside, wait till the media starts with their glowing profiles of her for being “the first Latina woman to run a presidential campaign!” Never forget, they ignored Kellyanne Conway being the first to run a presidential campaign and actually win.)
“It's critical because MAGA Republicans are running ads against us, and we're spending big to fight back,” the email continues, “We have to reach our goals to keep it up. Can President Biden count on you to make your first $25 contribution to his reelection campaign before our October fundraising deadline comes to a close? It will all add up fast when people who care chip in.”
Those damn “MAGA Republicans.”
What’s funny is, in the hundreds of “stop those MAGA people” emails Democrats have sent out this year, there’s no explanation of what MAGA means. Democrats likely don’t know it’s “Make America Great Again,” or they are firmly in the camp of “America was never great!” Either seems like a weird position for a political party seeking support, and it’s a testament to how dumb some are that they will give in opposition to something they have no idea about.
Another email, this one from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, reads, “We need you to understand what we just learned, Derek: House Republicans raised over $70 MILLION to defend their MAGA Majority. Donald Trump and his Super PACs are sitting on $37 MILLION to buy his way into the White House. And Fox News just revealed that MAGA Republicans plan to spend $100 MILLION in battleground races that could decide control of the House!! We have no choice but to take drastic action to address this staggering GOP fundraising machine -- or else we could lose any hope of winning back the House.”
Each side spent more than a billion dollars in 2020 and 2022. But since people can’t wrap their minds around a billion dollars, Democrats just use smaller, made up and old numbers. Their base will freak out no matter what, no need to confuse them with new information or reality.
Another DCCC email from “Obama-Biden Alert,” reads, “Derek, please understand: This is the most important election of our lives. Just FIVE seats stand between us and a Democratic House Majority. And with extreme MAGA Republicans coming after the legacies of our beloved Democratic Presidents like NEVER before, we need to act fast to crush their Majority. So at this pivotal moment, we’re urgently calling on 4,873 of our best supporters to rise up and join our Presidents in the fight. Can we count on you to make Joe and Barack proud by rushing in $3 to the DCCC before our end-of-Month deadline to help elect House Democrats?”
Note the panic. Also note how they have to invoke Barack Obama’s name, whose picture they include in the email, in order to inspire their base. Joe Biden just doesn’t do it. And the “legacies of our beloved Democratic Presidents” do not include Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter. Biden is not enough, and the others weren’t rabidly left-wing enough to inspire these morons anymore.
But they must stop “MAGA Republicans” because…they not only don’t want this country great again, they don’t even want it good.
