They’re as predictable as the tides – the left-wing press and their push otherize anything not directly related to the progressive agenda. Republicans finally got their act together and elected a new Speaker of the House. Immediately after the vote came the long knives for Mike Johnson because he made the mistake of being a Republican.
If you’re wondering who Mike Johnson is, you’re not alone. His name is a bore at warm milk; he sounds like the guy who played linebacker on your high school football team, though you can’t be sure. I feel like if I really thought about it, I’ve probably met at least five people named Mike Johnson just in the last ten years.
His legislative record is thin to non-existent because he hasn’t been in the House that long. Wait, I do know one thing about him: he’s from Louisiana. I guess I know a second thing, too, at least according to MSNBC, he’s an “election denier.”
That last bit puts him in the same boat as Hakeem Jeffries, the New York Democrat picked to pretend to be the public face of Democrats in the House while Nancy Pelosi continues to pull the strings behind the scenes. You didn’t really think she “stepped down” from leadership, did you? That wealthy old white lady isn’t about to let a black guy take over her job, not while she still has a breath left in her. She’s spent her life making sure minorities stayed “in their place,” and she’s not about to change now.
Think I’m joking? Ask yourself this: What is the bigger “get” for MSNBC regarding an interview with Pelosi of Jeffries? Which one makes more news and gets more attention? Democrats in the media are a compass needle, and Nancy’s facelifts are the north pole. Jeffries barely rates as a backbencher in the media; when was the last time anything he said “made news”? Ever?

Well, okay, his election denial about 2016 has made news, but only in conservative outlets. Liberal media pretends the four years they spent yelping about “Russian collusion” or interference either didn’t happen or it was all real.
While they ignore the “election denialism” they pioneered, they scream about 2020 like a 15-year-old at a Taylor Swift concert, only with more enthusiasm. I’m embarrassed for them since they’re clearly incapable of it themselves.
When Johnson won, the most commonly asked question on Capitol Hill was “Who?”
In a scramble to find “something” on him to weaponize, the liberal media went with “House Speaker Mike Johnson used faith in the campaign against gay rights.” The Washington Post story about how, as a lawyer, Johnson worked on a case with some “reporter” with a hyphenated last name deemed to be unacceptable and homophobic.
The Post reported the “campaign” he worked on was in support of “the Marriage and Conscience Act,” which “sought to protect people with anti-gay attitudes from adverse government action.” In other words, it looked to prevent people from being forced to bake a cake for a gay wedding if it violated their religious beliefs. The Democrats love forced labor; they fought a war to preserve it, so anyone being able to exercise their conscience in a way that displeases them is beyond the pale.
Seriously, though, that’s the story. That’s what they came up with.
Well, that and the fact that he has an adopted black son. He’s an adult now and doesn’t want to deal with all the crap that comes from being in the orbit of someone the left hates, so naturally, the media is reporting on him. Someone respecting their family member’s privacy and wishes is confusing to the left, which lives for anything race-related to exploit.
A statement from the new Speaker’s spokesman read, “At the time of the Speaker's election to Congress, Michael was an adult with a family of his own. He asked not to be involved in their new public life. The Speaker has respected that sentiment throughout his career and maintains a close relationship with Michael to this day.”
Naturally, after that, the Newsweek headline was, “Exclusive: Mike Johnson Speaks Out About Adopted Black Son.” The piece is even worse, quoting leftist “journalists” questioning whether or not his son even exists because, well, reasons. Have I ever mentioned that Democrats are horrible people? Because I meant to…because they are.
I’m sure they’ll come up with more on Johnson as soon as they track down his 5th-grade crush and when the guy he got into a shoving match with in high school gets around to responding to the dozens of emails from the New York Times. If you had the Democrat media being as predictable as the setting Sun on your bingo card, you’d won again.
