Praising his ignorance seems wrongheaded.
More drama is emanating from CBS News, leading to more praise from other journalists for the staff railing against the Bari Weiss management. For the latest leaked internal squabbling, newly hired executive producer Nick Bilton tried to conduct a staff meeting, but Scott Pelley was intent on refusing to allow discussion and lashed out at management.
Pelley, according to reports, was constantly interrupting and acting in a dismissive fashion. At one point, Bilton suggested that the two of them have that discussion in private, but Pelley was peacocking and demanded it be hashed out in front of the staff.
As a pure sign of how full of himself Pelley had become, at one stage, he demanded that Bilton be accountable for the names who had been fired from 60 Minutes last week. Among those was Tanya Simon, the producer whom Bilton is replacing. That is to say, Bilton cannot be “accountable” for those fired before he arrived.

The mounting tabulation of those in the media backing Senate candidate Graham Platner continues. In a busy weekend of new disturbing details from Der Oysterfuhrer, we now have Jessica Tarlov, who can overlook his fraudulent biography, his disqualifying social media posts, his calling for fellow veterans to die, his unsettling sexting prowess, and, of course, that small matter of having a Nazi death camp tattoo over his heart for about two decades.
Tarlov is able to overlook all of that because Maine wants…him.

Speaking of Nazi tattoos, on Morning Joe, they got around to discussing the weekend’s biggest news item…eventually. Despite days of Platner’s sexcapades being the prevailing news item, Scar-Joe and his crew managed to get around to addressing things in the fourth hour of the show.
By way of introduction, co-host Jonathan Lemire showed what their approach would be when he referenced that controversial ink on Platner’s chest, dismissively referring to the Tottenkopf skull as a "Nazi-style" tattoo.

Speaking of Morning Joe, the show was promoting that former First Lady Dr. Professor Mrs. Joe Biden would be appearing on the show to pimp her new book release. It was amusing that the network was bragging as if this were an exclusive interview, after Jill had been doing a string of media appearances for a week already.
But MS NOW tried to make it sound special that this was her first “cable interview” for her book tour.

Well, even if he never said it, she knows that he meant it.
Speaking of MS NOW, Katy Tur appeared on "Real Time: With Bill Maher," and she was discussing the James Talarico week of bizarreness.
Tur is clearly among the media sycophants backing Talarico, as she declared that the candidate has pulled the reins on his claim that “God is non-binary”:
“He’s taken that back - he said it was a silly thing for him to say.”
Yeah, except…he has not done so. The closest was during one debate, and again in his recent CBS News interview with Ed O’Keefe (covered here last week), where Talarico did say he had spoken about that on the floor of the Texas legislature to be provocative, and called some of his comments “cringe,” but he maintains his position on the gender of God.

Was there nobody on his staff to rein him in?!
Lawrence O’Donnell has his latest wing-nut theory of outrage. Larry referenced a recent White House presser where Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent mentioned there was a possibility that a new monetary note could be issued where a $250 bill could bear President Trump’s likeness.
This would require an act of Congress to pull down a law forbidding living figures from being featured on currency.
But in answering the question, he showed a paper with a proposed image of this new note, and this sent Larry down a wild rabbit hole. O’Donnell declared that this was an example of Bessent violating counterfeiting law:
Scott Bessent did something today that no other treasury secretary would have ever even considered doing. He played with counterfeit money publicly. And our self-clowning Treasury Secretary knows that. But he felt the need today to carry his public worship of Donald Trump to the point of now being locked in history as the buffoon who actually held up that obscene piece of counterfeit money today in the White House.
