Media Contradict Themselves on Kammy's Record

Matching Media Memorandum – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • To understand – she is NOT in charge of the job you all previously said she was in charge of?

The Kamala press push has already been ramped up into fourth gear. The swooning press corps is currently working intently to try to shield her from easily the most recognizable problem, the border crisis. There's a collective effort to insist that she was not in charge of the problem – and that she DEFINITELY is not the "Border Czar."

It is rather tough, however, to buy into the claim that anyone saying this is misleading us, considering many of these same outlets were the ones to tell us in 2021 that Kamala was put in charge of the border problem.

Gilded Reframe – AXIOS

As noted in the above thread, Axios struggled with the shift in Kamala-border coverage. Not only did writer Stef W. Knight contradict her own previous coverage of the VP and her job duties, but after declaring nobody should use the term "Border Czar," it was recognized that the outlet had been among those to describe Harris in that exact fashion.

Editor's note: This article has been updated and clarified to note that Axios was among the news outlets that incorrectly labeled Harris a "border czar" in 2021.

Legalized Press-titution – WASHINGTON POST

Look, we knew this was going to happen, but at the same time would just a little bit of self-control be too much to ask of a news outlet? We noted how last week the announcement of J.D. Vance as Donald Trump's running mate delivered mostly critical reports and outright hit pieces, and we predicted fawning coverage for Kammy – but even this is beyond the norm.

Kamala Harris was only tabbed to head the Democratic ticket on Sunday, but already since then, the Washington Post has run 25 features on the woman – 25 – and not one of them looks at her with an approach less than favorable, to say nothing of objectivity or finding anything critical about her record.

Prose & Contradiction – CNN

  • The temerity of this guy, who nearly was murdered!

Clearly, Abilio misses his conflicts with Trump. Jim Acosta was discussing some of the fallout of the failed assassination attempt and he managed to take exception with the man who was nearly killed. Trump dared to say, after getting winged by a sniper's bullet, that the Secret Service had failed to protect him. Acosta found this to be a deeply offensive comment, even though Trump's words had been echoed by none other than the Secret Service itself.

News Avoidance Syndrome – CNN

  • Any reason for the protection, Manny, or is it just aesthetics?

Ahead of the arrival of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, CNN's Manu Raju noticed that Capitol Police were setting protective fencing. It stands out that any time the press fears for MAGA-inspired violence they are rather upfront with their concerns – and in pointing out the dastardly right-wingers who are promised to deliver violent mayhem.

Yet, in this case, when anticipating conflict, Raju saw no means to reference how it was pro-Palestinian demonstrators who were anticipated to cause strife in D.C.
