Reporting on the Mirror – TIME MAGAZINE

  • It is both an insult to our intelligence and also makes perfect sense.

In a year of wars, media layoffs, Elon Musk drama and Bud Light controversies, Time Magazine announced its Person Of The Year.

Yes, it seems patently ridiculous that she is the best they could come up with, but in other ways, you can see their point. Between her global concert, social media, news entries, and NFL appearances, Swift was about as ubiquitous as anyone this year.

But in all honesty, I think we all know who really should have been honored…

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – NBC NEWS

At NBC News, Jonathan Allen has some extremely dramatic details about upheaval taking place inside the Biden White House. A group of 40 names have come forward to express dismay and opposition to the president's stance regarding a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. This is an explosive development.

That is if you think the opinions of interns working on the premises are in any way important – which, apparently, Mr. Allen does think is the case.

Look, Allen…if the interns inside the administration really hold any sway over the operations of this nation and our international policies, then THAT should be the scandal you would be focused on!

DNC PR Firm – CNN

  • The man's entire life is about his being propped up, Chris – we do not think he is in need of any further coddling, thank you.

After years of being forced to modulate his leftist tendencies while on Fox News, Chris Wallace is now on CNN and free to lean as far over from center as he desires. We see this now as he ponders the legal move by Hunter Biden to demand that his subpoena from Congress be required to have his testimony broadcast publicly. Wallace feels as if this was a cagey "checkmate" move by Hunter:

Sometimes the best defense is a good offense. The president's embattled son, Hunter Biden, taking on House Republicans this week, agreeing to testify in their impeachment inquiry, but only if it's in public. Did Hunter Biden outsmart House Republicans saying, "Sure, I'll testify...in public?"

Wallace may have outsmarted himself on this one, given the fact that as he was raving about Hunter's brilliant gambit, he never considered that the House Republicans were in no position to grant him his wish, and they effectively told Hunter to micturate up a bowline, and then appear in their closed-door meeting.

Blue-Anon – ATHLON SPORTS

  • Rooting for an entire team to take its ball and go home.

There has been no shortage of outrage and emotion ever since the College Football Playoff Committee decided to exclude the undefeated Florida State Seminoles from the NCAA finals in the coming weeks. The belief is that the team being reduced down to its third-string quarterback and putting up an anemic offensive display in its ACC championship win was the reason.

Now comes word that officials from the Orange Bowl – the December 31 game they have been reduced to playing in – canceled the scheduled news conference between the coaches of FSU and Georgia. This has led to wild speculations that the Seminoles may, in fact, end up boycotting the major bowl game entirely.

Demo-lition Project – CNN

  • The good news is you get to blame the other guy.

It has seemed like forever that there has been the promise of the arrival of CNN's new primetime show "King Charles," the cleverly titled talk show featuring CBS morning pundit Gayle King and NBA super figure Charles Barkley.

Well, last week the program made its bow in the 10 pm slot on Wednesday, and it flopped harder than LeBron James getting nudged. The show drew barely half a million viewers, logging the worst debut seen on the network in a decade. Almost all of the commentary about this dismal showing has to mention that the program had been the brainchild of deposed CEO Chris Licht, so the blame is loudly being noted.

"Riffed from the Headlines" is Townhall's daily VIP feature with coverage of the deeply flawed aspects of journalism in the nation, where Brad Slager looks to bring accountability to the mishaps, malaprops, misdeeds, manipulations, malpractice, and manufactured narratives in mainstream media.
