Reporting on the Mirror – CNN

We continue to get details filtering out on how resistant the staff at CNN had been under the brief Chris Licht regime. Previously, we had heard of staffers turning to Jeff Zucker behind the scenes, how many were registering gripes outside the network, and that Jeff Zucker may have been sabotaging things from afar.

Now, we get more milquetoast melodrama, as a party was recently held with many network figures in attendance, and signs emerged of how incestuous things have been with everyone involved. Speculation was that Zucker was seen holding hands with a married on-air figure (and now we learn that was Alisyn Camerota), that Zucker's paramour, Allison Gollust, was in attendance and left alone, and that all of this was held at the home of Don Lemon:

'Alisyn should know better especially after talking so much s**t about Fox over coworkers' inappropriate behavior there,' the source said, referring to Camerota's public criticism of Roger Ailes, the late Fox News chairman who sexually harassed staff.

We suggest that Chris Licht is fortunate to have extricated himself from this circus of dysfunction.

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • A slipping leader and a deceptive administration are nothing to be concerned with.

Joe Biden just announced that he has cured cancer. This historic announcement did not make news headlines because he did not actually solve this medical scourge and also because he was impacted enough to make such a claim. The media complex is, of course, steering wide of any speculation about his condition because he did not do anything as overt as, say, drinking water with both hands.

Just as concerning with the press apathy is their overlooking the White House blatantly altering the transcripts of Biden when he makes these gaffes and mental faceplant comments. The administration falsely recording the official record is nothing at all to be concerned about, we are led to believe.

Both Kinds of Standards – MSNBC

  • Those nutty conservatives are crazy for acting exactly like we do.

Mehdi Hasan has seen enough! These conservatives these days, with all their cultural outrage are out of control! They are losing their minds over things like the "Barbie" movie! And Bud Light! And they wanted to ban Dr. Seuss's books! (Whoops, that was the Left.)

Well, anyway, Hasan and his fellow leftist Ayman Mohyeldin had a fine time ridiculing the Right over these cultural outrages, mocking the childish and pathetic reactions to these cultural items. You would never see those on the Left behaving this way about things in entertainment, like movies and songs.

You see, as they are currently outraged at the movie "The Sound Of Freedom" and the song "Try That In A Small Town," that is…somehow…completely different and stuff.

Legalized Press-titution – CNN

There is a possibility that the travails at CNN leading to their ratings cratering might be affecting things beyond the broadcast realm. Jake Tapper, who has a series of books he has already seen published, had his latest release, "All The Demons Are Here," hit the stores this month. His track record and the fact that he is a media figure would suggest a modicum of success, as well as his release being touted by some celebrities.

That is why it is with a modicum of surprise that his book is not doing well at all, as it debuted outside the top 20 and garnered just over 4,300 units sold.

Race to the Bottom – NBC NEWS

We have to plead ignorance anytime there is a completely mundane experience in life that is announced as having a troubling aspect or history with racism. We have covered the times swimming pools, bicycles, and even police helicopters have been said to have a problematic component with race. Now comes possibly the most mundane racist example going – the outdoors.

Amazingly, this is not the first time leaving the house was said to have a privileged attribution attached to it. Just over a year ago, it was said the LGBT𝜋 activists would reclaim the outdoors from being the exclusive arena of heterosexuals, and now, NBC News is telling us that something very similar is happening with the black community in this country:

Taking this wilderness class seemed like a natural extension of my love of the outdoors, but my own isolation in the course made me wonder whether the old axiom was true to an extent. Was communing deeply with nature truly a 'white thing?' Groups like Vibe Tribe Adventures, Outdoorsy Black Women and the National Brotherhood of Skiers are just a few of the many organizations working to provide safe spaces for Black people to enjoy outdoor activities and dispel myths that the outdoors doesn’t belong to us.

It is probably the white outdoor privilege talking, but we here at RFTH were not at all familiar with these axioms and myths that outside did not belong to black people…
