Senate Democrats give Israel the finger.
Forty Democratic senators supported self-hating Jew Bernie Sanders in his attempt to prevent the shipment of military equipment already paid for by Israel. D9 tractors and gravity bombs were the two primary items, and the motion by the geriatric multimillionaire failed, with seven whole Democrats joining Republicans in rejecting the measure. How long before every Democrat votes against Israel? Maybe before the start of the 2026 NFL season?
The D9 tractor is a very interesting tool in the hands of the Israelis. It’s a 50-ton Caterpillar earth mover to which the Israelis add 20 tons of armor as well as a remote-controlled machine gun. There is a fully autonomous D9 that is used far less than the two-soldier version including an officer and a driver. I don’t know of any other country that uses the D9 in actual combat, as opposed to non-combat applications like clearing a road or building a runway. In Israel, the D9 is used like the Bears putting William “The Fridge” Perry at 335 pounds as a running back next to Walter Payton.
The D9 has several key roles in IDF war-making. The first is to make paths for soldiers. When Israel entered Gaza, it knew that Hamas had already set roadside bombs on all of the streets that led from Israel into the heart of the enclave. As I say, the Arabs always fight the last war. So Israel came with D9 bulldozers accompanied by Merkava IV tanks and simply knocked down buildings so as to invent new routes of ingress. This caught the local terrorists by surprise. Their whole defense—like the Maginot Line—was based on false assumptions about troop movements based on logical approaches. The Israelis simply ignored the known routes and created new ones, which allowed them complete surprise and fast dominance in the battle space.
The other major role of the D9 is the destruction of enemy assets. You and I use our houses and cars for our enjoyment and benefit. Palestinians use their stuff to kill Jews. As most Gazan houses had tunnel entrances and/or weapons stored in them, they were destroyed. This doctrine of leveling Gazan towns and, to a much smaller extent, Lebanese villages, is not one of revenge or meaningless destruction. The reduction of villages to rubble has several positive purposes for Israel:
Recommended
1. Keep the enemy busy for years rebuilding instead of making war. This was the idea of placing a smaller explosive charge in the beepers as wounded Hezbollah terrorists require more resources than dead terrorists.
2. Pit the people against the terrorists, if there is any difference there. A guy who lost his house—and thus his most valuable possession—can blame Israel or realize that Hamas was not forced to attack Israel on October 7, 2023. The people in southern Lebanon got sick of Hezbollah causing the destruction of their towns, and now they can add their physical removal from the south for a period of time currently unknown.
3. Make future attacks on Israel more difficult. Hamas is a cancer, and if you leave some cells around, they will continue to grow. If the war ended and Gaza was more or less in its original condition, Hamas would return to its war-making plans with new leaders and a different set of terrorist soldiers. But Gaza, in many places, was razed. There is no going back to shooting rockets from the top of a 10-story building. There is no building there any longer. Without tunnels for movement and buildings for weapons storage and attack positions, Hamas is two steps back in its planning against the Jewish state.
The other items, gravity bombs, are important for all theaters of war. While I doubt that Israel will send D9 tractors into Iran, it definitely will send dumb bombs either as is or with GPS kits to convert them to JDAMs: Joint Direct Attack Munitions. Israeli planes can make up to three sorties to the Persian theater per day. They are refueled by Israeli and American tankers and have worked hand-in-hand with the U.S. Air Force and Naval air assets. The two countries have probably done more damage to Iran than did the larger allied air force used at the opening of Operation Desert Storm.
So why would the Democrats vote against giving Israel critical weapons needed at a time of active war? It is doubtful that too many of the 40 traitors fear Muslim electoral backlash. There doesn’t seem to be a Sharia takeover of Georgia—yet. They may be afraid of the Left, which has gobbled up the entire Democratic Party. Maybe they knew that the motion would fail, and as such, could allow themselves to vote as they did to fend off the lefty tsunami destroying the former party of workers and the poor. Or maybe that’s really how they feel. They see that Israel is a losing issue due to lefty/Muslim hatred and the new Weirdo Right, which is indistinguishable from the Left. Maybe they don’t like Israel, even if in the past, Democrats were Israel’s biggest supporters. Times change, people in office change, and today we have a Democratic Party that hates Israel and would rather leave her bereft of key weapons against psychotic mass-murdering enemies.
Before you write below, “Why do American Jews vote so overwhelmingly Democratic?” let’s just skip to the answer. Look at the bill’s sponsor. It wasn’t some Muslim Sharia lover. It wasn’t even some Republican with a subscription to the Tucker Carlson Network. No, it was a Jew who calls himself a “Democratic Socialist.” I have no doubt that he had a ritual circumcision on the eighth day of his life and at age 13 had a bar mitzvah where they served rubber chicken. But like many non-Torah observant Jews, Judaism for him took a back seat to something bigger: fixing the world. Bernie is all in favor of supporting illegal immigrants and against ICE doing its job to rid the country of them. He checks the box for every socialist bromide that has never worked anywhere in the world where it was tried. He is a millionaire flying private, as he pretends to be the champion of the poor and oppressed. If you see a Jew walk into a non-kosher restaurant to eat, will you say that the place is not kosher? If Bernie Sanders sponsors a bill to weaken the Jewish state and allow for continued attacks against it, who am I as a non-Jewish senator to vote otherwise?
Sheldon Adelson and other prominent former Democrats said that they never left the party but rather that the party left them. The recent vote of so many Democrats against Israel receiving military supplies already paid for shows that he and they were right. Maybe the Democrats are lost for a generation or two. But what of the Republicans? Polls suggest that the Groyper/Carlson wing is far smaller than the noise that it generates might suggest. But if Israel loses the Republicans, it will figure out how to get by. My worry is for America: every country that drove out its Jews or made their lives miserable went down the toilet—save none. Jews have contributed and continue to contribute to every part of American life. The Democrats have turned against the Jewish state. Republicans should realize that for a better, safer, and more successful America, the road to success includes Jews, including those who are strong supporters of the Jewish state and its future. American flags dot Israel’s main east-west artery in anticipation of Donald Trump’s now-canceled visit this week. Israel loves America and is grateful to the president for his support in all areas, including the provision of weapons. Shame on the lousy Democrats.
Editor's Note: For decades, former presidents have been all talk and no action. Now, Donald Trump is eliminating the threat from Iran once and for all.
