A nation without secure elections is a nation without an actual democratic process. Yes, we're a republic, but we use the democratic process to pick those who will represent us, and it's imperative that the elections reflect the actual will of the people.

More and more, though, it's becoming obvious that they don't, at least in certain parts of the country.

The massive discrepancies following the 2020 election woke a lot of people up to the fact that there was a problem, though many of us were previously aware of just how vulnerable our elections were thanks to things like absentee ballots.

We were told we were bonkers, though. There was no way fraud could happen. Our elections were perfectly secure, and election fraud never happens in this country.

Well, that thing that never happens just happened again.

Voter fraud “never happens,” except when it does happen — and that seems to be quite often.

Call it coincidence, but instances of this alleged behavior so often seem to emerge from blue states. In the newest instance, it concerns Long Island, New York.

On Thursday, the New York Post detailed allegations against a school clerk who is accused of rigging an election by tearing up ballots.

According to the report, Hempstead Union Free School District Clerk April Keys allegedly smuggled ballots for the board of education out of her office on May 19 and gave them to an incumbent in the race, a man identified as Victor Pratt, who also works as a local DJ.

A 51-page petition was filed with the state education department on the matter, as Keys could face criminal charges. The filing from June 15 asked for the election to be overturned. Pratt had been declared the winner by 81 votes.

On Saturday, the U.K.’s Daily Mail reported the district has been ordered to hold a new election. State Education Commissioner Betty Rosa said it must happen within 60 days, although a date has not been set.

Footage from a report by NewsDay TV was posted to social media platform X, with district attorneys showing what appeared to be discarded ballots.

Funny that we didn't hear about this on the mainstream broadcast news, isn't it? It's almost like they're knee-deep in the fraud and can't let you know that it's really happening. I'm sure it's something else entirely, though. I'm sure they thought praising the Iranian national soccer team's "historic" run in the World Cup, where they won zero games, was of more vital public interest than election fraud in the Big Apple.

The question we need to ask is not so much how this happened, but just how much this has happened. It's obvious how it transpires. There's laughable security on our elections and, thanks to people like John Thune, we're not likely to see them get more secure anytime soon, unfortunately.

Of course, doesn't it make perfect sense how "Democratic" Socialists keep winning despite their laughably terrible policy proposals?
