While midterm elections tend to favor the party in the White House, that may be changing. Although Republicans did take back control of the House in 2022, we didn't see the red wave that was hoped for. Internal polling shows that House Republicans are at least, at this point, looking to do better in the 2026 midterms than they did at this point in 2017 for the 2018 midterms. There aren't too many battleground districts but there are enough, and it's actually the particularly leftist members that are the loudest in the Democratic Party, like Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX). That's bad news for those who are in the battleground districts. Her comments about "this next season," and how she went after "haters," could certainly reflect how she's gearing up for the midterms.
As Rusty Weiss at our sister site RedState covered, Crockett appeared on a colorful podcast via iHeart Radio. Here's how Weiss described it:
The Texas lawmaker's latest rant came during an appearance on the "Outlaws" podcast with TS Madison earlier this week. For those who do not know who TS Madison is, present company included, a quick perusal on the interwebs reveals he is a transgender former sex worker and adult film star. That's who the de facto leader of the Democrat party was chatting it up with. Classy.
Classy indeed. Is it really all that surprising, though? The issue isn't only with Crockett's framing of topics, though. TS Madison shared being "so afraid as a black trans woman" and fearmongered heavily about the state of Texas where Crockett represents a district but has also thoroughly mocked and even wished violence upon its Republican leaders, like Gov. Greg Abbott and Sen. Ted Cruz.
Crockett likened herself to TS Madison, indicating, "You know, I like to say, ‘They hate you because they can't be you,' so every little hate that they spew your way, my way, it is because they know they see how beautiful we are inside and out and we walk in that greatness every single day, and there is nothing they can do to diminish us or make us feel less than, even though that is what they want us to believe we are." The congresswoman continued to go with the nonsense liberal talking point of one's own truth, as she thanked TS Madison "for living your truth."
In talking about them both being black and TS Madison being trans, Crockett also ranted against being "attack[ed]" and how "it's coming from the people we have elected to protect us, the people who have been entrusted to protect us." She also went after those who "get all riled up about anybody that is not old, white, male, and rich," and referenced the Jim Crow era. When it comes to comments about Jim Crow, it's worth reminding that Crockett has gone after Republicans before on the topic, including Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), whom she attacked for being a black man married to a white woman.

That part early on in the conversation certainly set the stage for what else Crockett had to say. Crockett didn't limit her concerns about "hate" to the 1950s and Jim Crow, but also to today, in 2025.
"And so with me, I know that we have persevered past them, we have still been able to accomplish so much despite them, and I truly believe that as we walk into this next season, this losing season for the haters, I think that we will again be able to transgress and show, like, we are great, we are normal, we are, actually, if anything, we got superpowers, as far as I'm concerned."
That certainly sounds like she's talking about the midterms. Crockett is not only making major moves prior to the 2026 election, but after. She's officially running to be ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, and has already talked about impeaching President Donald Trump if Democrats retake the House, as well as subpoena Elon Musk.
Again, while the 2026 midterms could certainly favor Democrats based on historical trends, that's no longer a given. Beyond Crockett's radical left positions and remarks, it's worth reminding how the party continues to perform poorly in poll after poll throughout President Donald Trump's second term, and has even been at its lowest numbers.
Maybe Crockett and the Democrats really will need "superpowers," though it doesn't sound like they have them. As Weiss added in his piece, "If your superpower is being staggeringly ignorant at all times, then yes, the Democrat party and their transgender-obsessed lunatic fringe followers definitely have superpowers."
Regardless of their relevance to the midterms or not, Crockett's showed herself to be quite the hypocrite. She stated, “So, it is easier, in my opinion, to do what's right every single day that I go in and serve and do right for everyone because at the end of the day I know there was a time, and a place, and if they could, they would throw me back in chains,” which TS Madison was all too enthusiastic to agree with. “Somehow, those who came before us managed to break loose of the physical chains, even though we still have a bunch of system chains that we are still kind of wrangling with.”
Is Crockett for real? Beyond the bizarre comments she's repeatedly made on illegal immigration, she's gone after Republicans repeatedly to insult them, including having petty fights with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), another member of the House Oversight Committee and chairwoman of the DOGE subcommittee. As referenced above, she not only wished violence upon Cruz, but she mocked Abbott as "Governor Hot Wheels" and pathetically tried to explain away the insult. She also received warnings from Attorney General Pam Bondi over her concerning comments about Musk.
That's hardly "do[ing] right for everyone," and it was curious of Crockett to stress "everyone" in her remarks. As Weiss reminded in his piece, the comment is from then-Vice President Joe Biden, when he and then-President Barack Obama were running for reelection against Republican nominee Mitt Romney. It serves as a reminder of how divisive the Democratic Party has long been and continues to be, even with Biden out of office from his one spectacularly failed term.
Crockett represents the most blue districts in Texas and one of the most blue districts in the entire country. She's likely to have her seat for as long as she wants it. But again, that doesn't mean she's helping her party in the present or beyond, especially for the 2026 midterms. It's to the Democrats' folly that they keep putting her out there and promoting her.
