‘Shark Tank’ Tycoon Shares His Thoughts on DOGE

Townhall has covered how “Shark Tank” tycoon Kevin O’Leary has defended President Donald Trump’s agenda on several occasions.

In December, O’Leary said in an interview that half of Canadians support President-elect Donald Trump’s idea for Canada to become part of the United States. This came after Trump began receiving backlash for saying that Canada should become the 51st state.

This week, O’Leary defended the Trump administration’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), the newly-formed agency meant to eliminate government spending and is spearheaded by Tesla founder Elon Musk.

As Townhall covered, several agencies have fired employees and lost funding for woke initiatives as a result of DOGE.

O’Leary told CNN that DOGE should eliminate more.

“I don’t think he’s doing enough. He’s not cutting enough. We should cut more, 20 percent more,” he said. “It’s all fat. It’s waste.”

“This is great for the American people,” he added.

Earlier this month, O’Leary made similar remarks.

“They're not whacking enough. You go in there and you cut 20% more than your initial read. Always cut deeper when there's fat and waste,” he said.

“All of these agencies are like big fat chickens dripping over barbecues of fat. This is the best barbecue I've ever seen. But, I don’t think it’s happening fast enough. They’re not cutting enough. Keep slashing. Keep hacking…cut, cut, cut more…It’s going to work out just great. Cut everything…If you don’t see what they’re doing and they can’t show you that they’re adding value, you whack,” he said.
