The 'Extreme Passion' of Socialists Has a Very High Body Count

We need fewer lawyers, political science majors, and theater kids in Congress, and we need far more historians. If we had more of the latter, maybe we could have avoided the impending socialist takeover of the Democrat Party. While Republicans like Mike Johnson and Marco Rubio, whose family fled the atrocities of Cuban communism, can sound the alarm bells, Democrats are scrambling to figure out how to respond to the latest insurgence of socialists and communists in their ranks.

Some, like Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, are speaking the truth: the socialists will destroy his state. Others are feigning ignorance of what socialism and communism really are, probably in the hopes of appeasing the mobs into shooting them last. Others are saying the quiet part out loud without realizing.

That last one is the approach Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is taking, dismissing the zealotry in his party as people who simply have 'extreme passion.'

"Many who are running under the 'Democratic Socialist' brand or the progressive brand are making their case with just extreme passion," Beshear said. "They're convincing voters that they will work as hard as they can and that's what voters are asking for right now."

This is where knowing history would be helpful. The 'extreme passion' we're seeing from American socialists has reared its ugly head before. During Mao Zedong's Cultural Revolution (1966-1976), Mao encouraged Chinese youth to rebel against 'capitalist roaders' within the Communist Party. He encouraged them to break ties with family in favor of party devotion (gee, doesn't that sound familiar?). In one instance, Zhang Hongbing reported his mother to the authorities. She was arrested, tortured, and executed by firing squad two months later. He was 16 years old at the time and later regretted his actions. His 'extreme passion' led to the death of his mother and millions of others. The lucky ones ended up in prisons.

In the Soviet Union, the Komsomol and Pioneers were the movements that indoctrinated the youth. They, too, were encouraged to denounce and report family members, and the children of those who were purged were stigmatized and re-educated. Families deemed 'enemies of the people' were often sent to prison camps or executed.

Cambodia's Khmer Rouge, heavily influenced by Mao, taught children to be loyal to 'Angkar' (the party) over all else. They participated in or witnessed killings, and about 1.7 million people died.

All told, the 'extreme passion' of the communists and socialists put 100 million people in mass graves in the 20th Century alone.

It's clear that it's not what voters want, either, contrary to what Beshear claimed. In Wisconsin, Republicans statewide are outpacing Democrats in fundraising, including Tom Tiffany, who is far ahead of Democratic Socialist Francesca Hong. Nationally, Speaker Mike Johnson has raised a record-breaking $135 million for Republican causes, and the RNC has more than $125 million cash on hand and no outstanding debts, while the DNC is $16 million in debt with $12.6 million cash on hand.

It's not surprising to me that Americans who just elected Donald Trump would bristle at embracing an ideology that hates white people, hates America, and wants to usher in an Islamo-Communist dictatorship.

I've argued in the past that the Democratic Socialists are simply saying out loud the things most other Democrats were thinking, and Beshear just confirmed that theory. The Democrats, the mainstream ones, not the socialist nutters, have been pushing to abolish ICE with no plan to address immigration enforcement.

That's a de facto abolition of our immigration laws and our borders, by the way. And a de facto demolition of our country. After all, if you don't have borders, you don't have a country.

And that's the case the socialists are making with 'extreme passion.'

They want to grant all illegal aliens amnesty, erase our borders, defund the police, destroy our prisons, repeal the Constitution and replace it with the Communist Manifesto, abolish the Senate and make the Supreme Court and president subservient to a unicameral Congress they'll control with an iron fist.

That's not 'extreme passion.'

That's radicalism. That's the end of America.

And Beshear seems fine with that.
