First, I can’t believe it. Second, we all know this is a lie. There’s no way that former First Lady Jill Biden actually thought this about former Vice President Kamala Harris and the 2024 election. Mrs. Biden, who penned a book about her time in the White House, which is customary, also provided a timeline for when we might see a female president with Kelly Ripa. On that subject, yes, she likely had the correct take, but the Harris portion was bonkers.
Mrs. Biden, 75, said that the United States will not see a female president in her lifetime. That’s likely true, given her age, and it’ll likely be a Republican. Feminist Camille Paglia said that would be her guess for none other than Republican women care about more things other than abortion. Don’t quote me on that, but it’s something similar. Yet, it’s the remarks about Kamala that are questionable: Jill was shocked she lost, and thought she was going to defeat Donald Trump. Lady, no way you thought that (via The Star-Ledger):
Host Kelly Ripa asked Biden on her SiriusXM podcast “Let’s Talk Off Camera” whether she believed there would be a woman president in her lifetime. While Biden said she expected former Vice President Kamala Harris to win the 2024 election, she conceded that she no longer believes she will see a woman in the White House.
“I have a sort of a final question, and I fear the answer. I really do. I fear the answer,” Ripa said. “Do you think we’ll ever see a woman president in our lifetimes?”
Biden, 75, pointed to her age as a reason why she wouldn’t see a woman become president.
“In my lifetime, well, I’m 75, so you know I feel like probably not in my lifetime,” Biden said. “Kelly, but maybe in yours.”
Ripa asked Biden again whether she really believed that.
“I mean, you and I believe in a woman president. I mean, it’s like no question, right? No question,” Biden said. “But I really did think last time that Kamala was going to win. I mean, I was out on the campaign trail for her. I saw the excitement. I saw the crowds. I saw at the convention. I mean, I saw all the energy, and I thought finally we’re going to have a woman president.”
She said that she was stunned the morning after Election Day when she learned Harris had lost.
“I must tell you, I was shocked the morning after when I got up at 5o’clock in the morning to feed Willow and get ready for the day, and I found out that she had lost,” Biden said. “I mean, shocked.”
How many reports have we read about how the Bidens are still furious at Democrats for removing Joe from the 2024 ticket, their cold relationship with Nancy Pelosi now, and the belief that Joe could have beaten Trump, which is simply not supported by any evidence? Joe was heading toward a Walter Mondale-like defeat. Kamala Harris only got Democrats fired up about that impending beatdown, which cost about $1 billion.
And there’s supposedly tension with Kamala about how she forced Joe to endorse her once he was left alone. Bad blood is all I’ll say, so if this is an attempt to rewrite history or rebuild bridges, like this crew claiming Joe’s mental health is fine, it’s simply not believable.
