When is enough enough? When do women — and I say this as someone who is decidedly not a feminist — get to reclaim our right to privacy and safe spaces? Because we have yet another story about Planet Fitness, the so-called "judgement free zone," and its "inclusive" policies leading to the sexual abuse and exploitation of women.
On October 5, I reported how these polices likely led to a convicted child rapist sexually assaulting multiple women in the locker room of Massachusetts Planet Fitness. That was just the latest in the long line of abuses women have experienced, including being filmed in Planet Fitness locker rooms and a man caught pleasuring himself in the women's bathroom.
Even in Texas, women aren't insulated from Planet Fitness' dangerous policies. For years, Eli Rodriguez allegedly recorded women in various states of undress at the Frisco location of the gym. Rodriguez was arrested on Thursday, and police say that he had videos of the victim dating back to 2024.

The victim is now suing the gym chain, according to WKRC-TV Local 12.
"I definitely thought it would be private and definitely a safe space and never would have thought that my rights would have been violated in this way," the victim told FOX 4. "I was shocked, and I was a little angry and definitely violated. And I also found out that it wasn't just one video of myself; that there were multiple in various states and dress, and it was really alarming."
The victim's lawsuit also said that there were seven other incidents of secret recording in Planet Fitness locker rooms dating back to 2014. Her lawyer, Rogge Dunn, said Planet Fitness should have put safety measures in place years ago.
"We're not dealing with a mom-and-pop. We're dealing with a nationwide chain that should know better. They have the money, they have the resources, and they have the people to prevent this type of unauthorized secret videotaping," he said.
Instead of changing these policies, Planet Fitness has revoked the membership of women who have complained.
So I guess there is judgement, but only if you're a woman who doesn't want to be sexually exploited by men.
This is especially interesting in light of the Left's pearl-clutching over Cornell. While we don't know yet what happened, that entire case — from the midterm-timed lawsuit to Gov. Kathy Hochul appointing Attorney General Letitia James as special prosecutor — has all the earmarks of another Rolling Stone/UVA or Duke lacrosse hoax. The Left is arguing that women can't consent to sex if they're drunk, that men should be taught not to rape, and one lawmaker even wants to incentivize fake rape claims by promising tuition reimbursement.
Where are these politicians when it comes to Planet Fitness? Why are they not condemning the gym for allowing women to actually be sexually assaulted, abused, and harrassed? Why are they turning a blind eye to the gym punishing the victims? We all know why: mentally ill men who pretend they're women trump the rights of actual women.
There is no reason — none whatsoever — for Planet Fitness to have this police after numerous women have been victimized. I canceled my Planet Fitness membership over this (and demographic concerns at my local gym) years ago. I suggest all women do the same. There are other low-cost gyms around that will protect you from predators.
