The woke-ification of Hollywood has really been an interesting experience to live through. In an effort to appeal to the non-existent "Modern Audience" and interject The Message into every syllable of every show, they've destroyed many beloved franchises and lost billions of dollars in the process.
Make no mistake, I feel very limited sympathy for them, because this is self-inflicted. I do feel bad for theatre owners and the low-level production staffers who suffer the most from Hollywood's absolute implosion. The bigwigs, the writers, the producers, and the actors, however, deserve every ounce of hurt that comes their way.
Why? Because they're insufferable scolds who have no concept of the real world. Ricky Gervais said as much to their faces in 2020, when he hosted the Golden Globes.
"If you do win an award tonight," Gervais said, "don't use it as a platform to make a political speech. You're in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world. Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg. So if you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god, and f**k off."
Tatiana Maslany, star of the MCU's disaster that was "She-Hulk," didn't get the memo. Instead, she went on a podcast to slam Tom Selleck and Michael Jordan, both of whom made a name for themselves by being apolitical.

"Like, to me, if artists are like mirrors to the world, to society, we have to name things ... whether it's emotionally mirroring to people the human experience or it's speaking out or it's naming something, it's like such an important, intrinsic part of our job," Maslany said.
"All of it is political, everything is political," she continued. "All entertainment is political because it has a viewpoint and it has a perspective; it has visual representation of the world we live in or the kinds of things that are funny or acceptable or the ways that people relate to each other."
Not all of that is political. In fact, most of it isn't political. But for leftists like Maslany, who have to interject their politics into everything, they can't see the world any other way.
Tom Selleck is 80 years old and people are still talking to him about "Magnum, PI." His more recent series, "Blue Bloods," ran for 14 seasons and still plays in syndication. Tom Selleck won a Primetime Emmy for playing Thomas Magnum in 1984 and was nominated five times in a row. He also got seven Golden Globe nominations for the role and won the Golden Globe in 1985. He was nominated for an Emmy for his role as Dr. Richard Burke on "Friends" in 2000 and again for "Jesse Stone: Sea Change" in 2007.
"She-Hulk" ran for a season to lukewarm reviews, and while Maslany won an Emmy for her role in "Orphan Black," I doubt anyone will be asking her opinion on anything when she's 80 years old.

See why it has only a 32 percent popcorn rating on Rotten Tomatoes? It's a far cry from "Orphan Black."
As for Michael Jordan, he is simply a legend. He will be talked about for generations as one of, if not the, greatest basketball players ever. I won't even bother to get into his record, I'll simply share this video of him slam dunking a rebound like the boss that he is.

And while his "Republicans buy sneakers, too" line is most likely apocryphal, the sentiment holds true. Republicans do buy sneakers.
They watch television and movies, too. And judging by ratings and box office returns, they're getting fed up with everything being political.
They say those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, and those who sold out their promising careers shouldn't throw shade.
