Being a Democrat means never having to say you're sorry, it seems. It also means never being held accountable for your actions, even when your conservative counterparts often find their lives ruined for far less. Last week, we marked the sad anniversary of the assassination of Charlie Kirk. Many leftists actually celebrated Kirk's demise, not only in the days and weeks following his death but on the anniversary.
Think about what that means for a moment: they celebrated the death of a husband, a father, and a son whose only "crime" was saying things they didn't like. Charlie Kirk was not a racist. He was not a homophobe. He was not a misogynist. He was a brilliant, articulate, and fearless man who wanted to win over his opponents through reasoned, logical debate.
Reason and logic long ago left the Democrat Party, of course. It is now beholden to left-wing ideologues who have one goal in mind: power. To achieve that power, their morals, their policy stances, and their beliefs are subject to change at a moment's notice. While he was running for vice president, I covered how he argued that "hate speech" and "dis/misinformation" were not protected by the First Amendment. Walz also endorsed the idea of a state hate speech registry in Minnesota where things like supporting J.K. Rowling could earn you a spot.
But today, those same Democrats are aghast that Macklemore, the Jew-hating rapper from Washington, was kicked from the Ed Sheeran tour after public outcry over his bigoted performance. That proves, of course, that when Democrats say "hate speech" and "mis/disinformation," what they mean is "stuff we don't like."
Stuff they do like, including Jew-hating, gets a pass.
Same with cheering and celebrating the cold-blooded murder of America's most prolific and effective conservative voice. On the University of Utah campus, a student celebrated Charlie's death with a cake. They even sickeningly called it the "Kirkversary." The student, Sara Larsen, approached conservatives to rub it in their faces.
Those conservatives took pictures of Larsen, who then played the victim.
Now Larsen is trying to get the conservative student who filmed her, Rylie Barnes, expelled.

The school asked Barnes to attend a meeting over the possible violation of the school's policy on Student Rights and Responsibilities. As another user pointed out, this is not a threat and does not violate the school's policies.
Larsen approached them. In public. Posed for the picture.

The College Republicans did not name Larsen. She was identified by others. After she chose to gloat about the murder of a conservative on a college campus.
But, as always, there are two standards: one for Democrats and one for Republicans. Republicans have been told for a while, but especially for the last year, that we deserve to be harassed, threatened, fired, and killed for our political views — views shared by roughly half the country.
That's a lot of people who "deserve" to be unalived.
Meanwhile, Democrats are told they can cheer our murders, foment hatred against us, threaten us, and if they're held accountable, they get to play the victim, and the Republicans will be punished.
For over a year, while President Trump was on trial in Manhattan, the Democrats loved to crow that "no one is above the law." That was a lie, of course.
They believe they are above the law. Not just laws concerning basic human decency, but up to and including murder. Add this to the bigger narrative surrounding the Lindsay Clancy trial, and it leads nowhere good. We're creating a two-tiered system of justice where one side gets away with murder, and the other gets punished for it.
