Every day, Democrats trip over themselves to get in front of cameras and scream about how the Trump administration is so cruelly "separating families." That line is a steaming pile of bull, of course. Families get separated all the time when someone commits a crime. Democrats, who are soft on crime, don't complain about that.
They certainly wouldn't bat an eye if my children were left parentless because I went to prison. In fact, some of them would laugh and Gavin Newsom would probably love to throw me behind bars for writing bad stories about him under the unconstitutional "Nick Shirley Act." But with every accusation Democrats hurl at Republicans, they're actually confessing something about themselves.
Will Lawrence, who is running for the U.S. House in Michigan's 7th Congressional District, was recently caught deleting a bunch of posts to hide his true beliefs. One of those beliefs was that the nuclear family must be destroyed. Why? Because it is an “isolating, individualistic, violent way of organizing society." Lawrence is not the exception; he's the rule. And with the rise of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), it's now a policy platform. Socialists have to — by design — destroy the nuclear family. It is the biggest engine of wealth and independence from the government, two things that are antithetical to the socialist movement.
Actor David Harbour also said something similar not too long ago, lamenting the nuclear family and how it prevents a "communal" America.

The Democrats won't, of course, pass legislation to abolish the family. Instead, they'll do other, subtler things like create welfare and tax policies that punish being married. I have good friends who were just denied a program for their son because they make "too much" money. I know for a fact they do not, but they are married. If they weren't, they'd have access to any and every program they could ask for.
That discourages marriage and, of course, the nuclear family.
Some of the ways are less subtle, but not an outright ban on the nuclear family. In places like California and Minnesota, Democrats passed legislation that allows the state to take away children if the parents don't adequately "affirm" their child's "gender identity." Policies that allow and encourage the secretive "social transitioning" of school children. That drives a wedge between the children and their parents. It's what abusers and groomers do, and it chips away at the family. There was a case in Colorado where a "trans kid" was essentially kidnapped by a teacher and LGBTQ activist to be "transitioned," and authorities would not return the child to her parents.
What happened to not separating families? Turns out that is another left-wing lie. Just like they have no intention of abolishing the police or prisons — but will repurpose them to persecute their political enemies — all the wailing and pearl-clutching over "separating families" is political, performative nonsense, too.
The Left wants not just to separate families; it wants to destroy the entire concept.
