Is Antifa Finally Running Scared?

Many years ago, my late ex-husband attended the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for his undergraduate degree. There, he underwent a political conversion after watching leftists on campus harass and eventually shut down Mark Belling, a conservative radio host, who was speaking on campus.

That shows leftists have been engaged in anti-free-speech violence against conservatives for decades (this was in the late 1980s), and it's only gotten worse over the years. Emboldened by Democrats in blue cities and states who refuse to prosecute them, leftists like those in Antifa and BLM have continually escalated their violent, illegal behaviors while innocent Americans are left wondering why something isn't being done about it.

In June, the Justice Department announced indictments against 15 members of Direct Action Minnesota (D.A.M.N.), a group with ties to Antifa. Charges include conspiracy to impede or injure a federal officer, interstate stalking, interstate threats, and solicitation to commit a crime of violence as well as assaults on federal officers.

Those indictments stemmed from organized blockades at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in January and March of this year, as well as the use of encrypted chats to surveil agents.

Of course, their supporters, lawyers, and the media are describing these people as simply community activists, teachers, artists, and union members, who were "protecting" the community. And I'm Sydney Sweeney.

But all it took for Antifa to start running scared was for 15 of their comrades to face serious time in Club Fed.

"Stop planning crimes in a Signal chat," the woman says. "In the comments section of my videos. Stop doing that. Today at court, I was at court for the Minnesota 15. The federal government prosecutor ... was like, 'Oh, we had infiltrated all of these Signal groups and people.'"

"I'm just so pissed because there are 15 people who are facing federal charges right now and the government is saying, 'Well, they were in Signal chat groups where people were planning crimes, ' so," she continued, "and it drives me insane."

Huh. Imagine that. The second these little leftist foot soldiers started catching charges, they stopped being so bold about planning their little "resistance" movements online.

Notice, of course, that this woman didn't say "Don't do illegal things," of course. She said "Stop doing it online." That means Antifa has no plans to stop anytime soon. I don't blame them, of course. They've come up in a world where being a member of certain demographic groups is a get-out-of-jail-free card. After a summer where BLM and Antifa burned down cities, few, if any, saw actual serious arrests and charges. In many blue cities, even the most violent repeat offenders are cut loose with minimal prison time (if any). Of course they'd expect to engage in lawlessness and get away with it.

That which is rewarded is repeated.

Meanwhile, people who even thought about Washington, D.C. on January 6, 2021, were hunted down and sentenced, collectively, to 800-plus years in prison. Pro-life Americans were targeted by the Biden administration under the FACE Act, with many of them thrown into prison for years. A judge in California even pointed out there was a disparity in prosecution between right-wing protesters and their left-wing counterparts.

The First Amendment is very clear: we have the right to peaceably assemble. That right does not cover riots, blocking roads, gathering outside the house of a Supreme Court justice, or any of the other things the Left does in the name of "resisting" President Trump, ICE, or whatever cause du jour they're currently upset about.

And it certainly doesn't cover planning criminal offenses on social media or carrying them out in real life.

We need more of this. The more Antifa goons who face years behind bars, the less likely it is their comrades will actually commit crimes. The message needs to be sent that they are not above the law, even if Democrats convinced them they were.
