Even though law enforcement cleared the autonomous zone in Madison earlier this week, things in the Wisconsin capital have not calmed down. The protesters showed up outside the house of Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, who later held a press conference urging calm and defending the dismantling of the encampment.
But the leftists will not stop. They are angry, and that anger was encouraged by Francesca Hong, who called the officer-involved shooting of Corey Ruiz an "execution" despite the fact Ruiz pulled a knife on officers and wounded one of them. They confronted police, and kept trying to stop cars.

The one protester being arrested also appeared to assault the police officer.

But many of these protesters have already been bailed out by a supposed non-profit called Freedom Inc. That group reportedly has gotten $5 million from taxpayers since 2020.

" It does nothing. It is a taxpayer-funded left-wing agitation organization. The leader of this group pays herself over $320k/year!" McKenna wrote.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the shooting continues. Dane County District Attorney Ismael Ozanne issued a statement on July 31 saying, "In my oath of office, I swore to support the Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of the State of Wisconsin. I swore to faithfully and impartially discharge the duties of my office to the best of my ability, 'So help me God.' I aspire every day to be true to that oath. This means that any decision in this matter cannot be made based on emotion or concern about how people will react to it."
The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is the outside agency conducting the investigation and Ozanne will base his decision to charge or not charge based on their findings.
