Vice President Kamala Harris insists on complaining about America. As she courts 2024 donors, the vice president recently compared the Supreme Court’s Roe v. Wade ruling to slavery, while finding time to suggest that voting rights are “under attack.”
Yet this is the same Harris who openly supported the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020—an unprecedented attack on American institutions, including federal courthouses and other government buildings. “Brilliant” and “essential,” she called them, as crime and chaos spread across America. All in all, the BLM riots resulted in more than $2 billion worth of damages, not to mention thousands of “peaceful protestors” who were arrested for inciting insurgency.
Support for criminals and illegal activity cannot go unchecked. Harris violated her oath of office to uphold the Constitution of the United States, putting American lives at risk for political gain. So did Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA), and they should both be barred from the federal ballot moving forward.
My organization, the Committee to Defeat the President, has mobilized to that effect, addressing letters to the Secretary of States of all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C. We demand that Harris and Waters become constitutionally ineligible under the Fourteenth Amendment to run for federal office. No American should be allowed to aid and encourage an insurrection without recourse, especially not two of America’s most recognizable elected officials.
Harris did nothing to uphold the rule of law, opting instead to support the insurgents. In 2020, she backed a Minnesota bail fund that aided the release of an alleged Minneapolis domestic abuser, who was subsequently charged with murder in a road-rage slaying last year. After the George Floyd protests, Harris showed more sympathy for violent rioters than the small business owners dealing with property damage or the innocent civilians in harm’s way. She took the side of criminals over law-abiding American citizens—all in the name of “social justice,” whatever that means. Standing by Harris’ side was Waters, who attended and participated in a BLM protest herself, encouraging the mob to stay on the streets and fight.
Accountability is long overdue, and it falls on Republicans to punish their political opponents for supporting the BLM riots of 2020. For years now, Democrats like Harris and Waters have repeatedly escaped any semblance of accountability, shielded by a liberal media that carries water for the radical Left instead of exposing their excesses. Whereas President Trump was smeared with the “Russia collusion” narrative by establishment forces from Day One, Harris and Waters suffered no repercussions for blatantly inciting anti-American insurgency.
When the radical Left throws punches, it becomes imperative for Republicans to punch back. Since 2016, the Democratic Party—led by Clinton lawyer and "Russia collusion" peddler Marc Elias—has attacked pro-Trump Republicans for supposedly colluding with Vladimir Putin to win an election. No credible evidence of such collusion has ever emerged, but Republicans are derided as Putin sympathizers and cheaters nevertheless.
Now is the time for Democrats’ sustained, severe misconduct to be thrown back in their faces. Let’s hold Harris and Waters accountable. Let’s all support the rule of law.
Harris is eyeing a 2024 run, but she should not be allowed anywhere near the presidency. She has forsaken her right to run at all.
