Politicians are human beings, of course, and unless they are strong in character with high moral quality, very few of them have the ability to overcome their desires and truly lead a country down a proper, virtuous path. Self-interest, or more accurately, selfishness, gets in their way. It’s common, and it’s what most people do. But if they are going to lead, we need our politicians to be “better” than most people, i.e., of superior moral quality.
Sadly, democracy frequently doesn’t produce that kind of leader. Democracy caters to mediocrity. The people elect politicians, and most people are average—mediocre. That is what “average” is all about. Very few people of supreme moral character are ever elected to office. Just look at our current crop of politicians if you want proof of that, but it can also be easily established historically.
I’m not talking about intelligence here. Intelligence and moral quality are two completely different things. Many “intelligent” people are moral scum, and many people of lesser intelligence abound in virtue. Some, like Joe Biden, have neither intelligence nor moral virtue, and, as politicians, they are extremely dangerous to any society. But moral quality is far more important to governing a country than intelligence. Hitler, Stalin, and Mao were all “intelligent” men with high IQs. But look at what they did to their people. Morality, the ability to conquer oneself, the knowledge of and willingness to do the right thing, is the most important human attribute. Doing what is truly best for others is the greatest virtue needed by statesmen. Unfortunately, democracy rarely produces that sort of leader. It usually sinks to the lowest common denominator—hence DEI.

Mediocre people generally elect people like themselves. That is a virtually unbending rule of history. And it’s why democracy, ultimately, always fails.
So, as I’ve noted in the first two columns in this series, we have many unscrupulous liars leading our country straight into the pits of hell. They care only about themselves and their own power. The truth means nothing to them—unless, by some chance, it can get them elected. But truth leads to virtue, and virtue doesn’t lead to power. Such is why politicians hate the truth and the God Who authors it.
Democratic Party politicians are especially adept at lying, but Republicans are excellent at it, too. One’s first reaction at the words of any politician is skepticism, then surprise if we discover they are actually telling the truth after all. That is a terrible situation, a horrible way to govern a nation and people.
I mentioned in my last column three great lies the Democratic Party is building most of its coalition upon—man-made climate change, “white supremacy,” and transgenderism. Each of these is a 100% lie, yet they are the foundation of the Democratic Party. History tells us what happened when countries like Hitler’s Germany and the communist Soviet Union were built upon total lies. If the Democratic Party gets enough control of America, can we learn from history? We never do.
I want to mention here a fourth lie the Democratic Party is telling America.
4. The border. We all know—only the utterly ignorant, naïve, uninformed, biased, or evil deny it—that the open border has one reason, and one reason only: to let in as many people as possible and give them as many gifts as the American taxpaying sucker can afford, ultimately giving citizenship to these illegals and thereby buying as many votes as possible to solidify the Democratic Party in power for as far into the future as foreseeable. Incredibly, many in the Republican Party don’t perceive this and don’t realize they are only sealing their own doom. Well, that group of RINOs are “Republicans in Name Only,” i.e., they are Democrats in sheep’s clothing, and they will change parties, if need be, to stay in good with the Deep State.
Democrats try to tell us—in other words, they lie—that we need these “migrants” (which they are not) to “pick our crops.” No, we don’t. Plenty of Americans don’t have jobs and could do it. Start by cleaning up the streets of San Francisco and sending those people out to “pick our crops.” Or, if these “migrants” are really needed to do that, and if they really want a job, bring them in legally and give them a green card. There is absolutely no economic reason to open the border and allow floods of potentially dangerous, unvetted people illegally into the country.
We are also lied to that many of those people are fleeing oppressive governments. Well, yes, many of them live under oppressive governments; that’s been true of most people in human history. And, in American history, many people came here, fleeing “oppressive governments.” But they came legally, and they became Americans. I often wonder, if the current crop of illegals is so poor and starving in their own countries, where in the world do they get the money to travel thousands of miles to America? It’s all a lie, a scam, by the Democratic Party to consolidate their power. And they couldn’t care less if they destroyed America in the process. It’s all about power, not about America. Democratic leadership has not one scintilla of morality; they cherish only themselves, and they hate you and me for exposing them. And, like Hitler, Stalin, Mao, et al., if given enough power, they will shut us up in whatever way necessary. If we fight back, well, Joe has F16s.
Truth is the enemy of the Left. Lies are the golden goose from which power emerges. The Democratic Party’s entire major platform is a lie. And lies will finally destroy us.
