Imagine, for a moment, that God was willing to intervene directly in the single most significant struggle of our time: the battle between the children of God, Christians, and the children of Satan, communists.
Imagine how glorious it would be if, rather than relying on our weak and fallible human efforts and consistently suffering debilitating losses, God was willing to fight this battle for us and win for us a resounding victory.
If that were true, would you not breathe the most profound sigh of relief that you have ever breathed?
God is willing to do this for us. Do we have the humility and faith to believe it?
In the 1840s, Jesus appeared to Sister Mary of Saint Peter in Tours, France, and told her that God the Father would punish modern man, not so much through the elements, but through the scourge of revolutionary men, the worst, most diabolical of which are communists. In other words, because of our sinfulness, because of our callous neglect of God, He is delivering us directly into the hands of our enemies.
Let that sink in.
Even if you’re not Catholic, does that assessment not resonate with you? Especially when you look around and see nothing but depravity and perversity oozing from every pore of society? When everywhere you look, vice is glorified, and virtue is vilified? When the only truth is that there is no truth?
"Has not communism (and its ideological varients) infiltrated nearly every human institution? Think of the deep state, the deep church, the media, big banks, corporations big and small, educational institutions at every level, the institution of marriage, and the family itself. Even our very personhood, our maleness, and femaleness are under attack.

Unveiling The World’s Best Kept Secret: The Devotion Destined to Save Society
Amazingly, a cure does exist. It is a cure few people know about, even many Catholic priests. But we have the power to change that.
Father Lawrence Carney, author of “The Secret of the Holy Face: The Devotion Destined to Save Society,” didn’t know about this powerful devotion until a cloistered nun, Sister Scholastica, of the Benedictines of Mary, Queen of Apostles, where he serves as chaplain, suggested he write about it in his first newsletter to a men’s group he was founding.
After she made this suggestion, Fr. Carney got to work, Sister Scholastica began to pray for him, and then, “some things happened.”
Not one, not two, but three different, completely unrelated individuals sent books, completely unsolicited, about the Holy Face devotion, to Fr. Carney, within a period of about three to six months.
Mere coincidence? Blind chance? Uncanny.
In a talk he gave at my church, Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Gainesville, VA, Fr. Carney retold the events, “There was a person from New Jersey who sent me a book called, ‘The Whole World Will Love You,’ which is a book about the Holy Face. And then someone from North Carolina sent me a book called ‘The Golden Arrow Prayer,’ a book about the Holy Face. And then someone sent me a book from, I think Texas, called, ‘The Holy Man of Tours,’ and that’s about the Holy Face.”
Divine providence?
Evidently, God has a plan, and Father Carney is instrumental in unveiling it.
More About the Devotion
Jesus Christ revealed to Sister Mary of Saint Peter what could accurately be called communism’s kryptonite: devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus. (Notably, Saint Thérèse of Lisieux and her Father, Saint Louis Martin, were some of the original members of the Archconfraternity of the Holy Face in Tours, France. Indeed, St. Thérèse modeled her spirituality after Sister Mary of Saint Peter, taking the religious name Thérèse of the Child Jesus and of the Holy Face.)
Christ told Sister Mary that the communists were traitors. They grew up in the shadows of the great cathedrals of Europe, only to turn on and directly attack the Church. Today, they continue to attack all that is good, true, and holy the world over.
Communists take their orders from Satan himself. At its core, communism is an ideology that demands mankind violate the first three Commandments.
Communists blaspheme God’s Holy Name and make false idols of man and material things. They demand the closure of churches so that we cannot give God worship due to Him.
The communist ten commandments command adherents to “never forget that the clergy is the most powerful enemy of the Communist state” and “convince your friends not to have any contact with priests.”
(It’s no wonder Father Carney made the chilling but sincere plea, “When we [priests] ask you to pray for us, do it, because we have a target on our backs.” If you think he’s exaggerating, become a student of recent history, and get to know the story of Father Jerzy Popiełuszko. If you think that could never happen here, I have some very fine beachfront property to sell you in South Dakota.)
Yes, we must engage in temporal and political efforts. But this is a spiritual battle. Saint Paul admonished the Ephesians, “For our struggle is not with flesh and blood but with the principalities, with the powers, with the world rulers of this present darkness, with the evil spirits in the heavens."
Spiritual combat requires spiritual artillery.
Do you not believe that God is powerful enough to strike every evil man dead in less than a nanosecond? But that is not His plan. Instead, by making reparation to His Holy Face, God wants His children to wage spiritual warfare to convert evil men.
The Holy Face devotion is so powerful that there were no less than 6,000 certified miracles surrounding copies of the Veil of Veronica at the Oratory of the Holy Face in the home of Venerable Leo Dupont, a contemporary and friend of Sr. Mary of Saint Peter.
Do we have the humility to accept the futility of our mere human efforts? How much hemorrhaging must we suffer before we cry out for God’s help?
Get to know the Holy Face devotion. God asks of us precious little. Like obedient little children, we need only say yes.
