So said Joe Biden during a ‘Pride’ event at the White House over the weekend. A comment that was made only a few days after we recognized the anniversary of the Allied invasion of Europe during World War II when thousands of Americans died, were wounded, and many maimed for life freeing a continent from the horrors of Nazi Germany.

One can only assume from his comment that Joe Biden has never shaken the hand of a soldier from the Big Red One who stormed the beaches of Normandy under intense enemy fire, or who scaled the cliffs of Pointe du Hoc to destroy enemy guns that were no longer there. Or how about the Paratroopers from the 101st and 82nd Airborne Divisions who dropped in behind enemy lines in the darkness to help pave the way for the Allied advance off the Normandy beaches?

I guess Biden never shook the hand of one of the Marines who raised the flag on Iwo Jima, or who fought through the jungles of Guadalcanal, or any of the other Pacific islands that the Japanese fanatically held.

My guess is that Roy Benevidez, Jon Cavaiani, and any number of other Medal of Honor recipients who risked their lives “above and beyond the call of duty” in the rice paddies of South Vietnam were never met by Joe Biden either.  What a shame.

For Joe Biden to equate one who chooses to have sexual relations with people of the same gender with “bravery and inspiration” is an insult to all of the Americans who have contributed far more to this country than a bunch of rainbow flag waving activists gyrating on a float during a Pride Parade.

It’s an insult to the Fire Fighters and Police Officers who ran up the stairs of the World Trade Center in New York on September 11, 2001, and to all those wearing the uniform of our military who have laid their lives at the altar of freedom in Iraq, Afghanistan, and many other places around the world ever since that terrible day.

So let’s set the record straight here, there’s nothing brave or inspiring about being a homosexual. It’s not an achievement. In fact, there’s nothing noble about being a homosexual, heterosexual, or whatever one might claim to be. It’s how one lives their lives that matters, not who they choose to have sex with.

There’s a lesson to be learned here. If homosexuals want to be fully accepted by society, then they need to quit trying to force it, and just let it happen. If they looked outside of the little rainbow bubble that they live in they’d see that most people could care less about whether they’re homosexual or heterosexual. It just doesn’t matter to most people nowadays. Live your life and leave me the hell alone seems to be pretty much the consensus.  Most Americans have much better things to do than be concerned about whether two men or two women want to be together.

Which brings to mind the question - why do we dedicate an entire month celebrating homosexuality? I mean let’s cut to the chase here, that’s really the basic premise of Pride Month, celebrating homosexuality. Oh sure, there are other letters of the alphabet thrown in for good measure, but primarily it’s all about recognizing homosexuality. Does it really merit an entire month of celebration? Considering that our military veterans, the members of our Armed Forces, and our war dead only get one day each year dedicated to them, it seems rather curious to me.

You see, I find our members of the military and our veterans to be the bravest and most inspiring people I’ve ever known. Along with our policemen who leave their homes and families every day when they go to work not knowing whether they’ll return home to their loved ones that night, and our fire fighters who rush into burning buildings searching for people overcome by the smoke and flames.  Its police officers, fire fighters and our military who most inspire us with their courage and bravery. The behavior displayed in many of the Pride Parades is only nauseating to many people, certainly not brave and inspiring.

Obviously Joe Biden’s comments this past weekend were nothing more than political pandering to a special interest group. I seriously doubt he thinks much during his daily life about the ‘Rainbow People.’ In fact, Joe Biden probably has trouble putting any cogent thoughts together at all.

The ‘Rainbow’ crowd needs to spend less time promoting themselves and trying to force-feed their lifestyle onto others, and more time just living their life and inspiring people by their contributions to society, not by their sexual activities.

The truly brave and inspiring people are the ones who have fought and died preserving the freedoms our country was founded on.  It’s a shame that Joe Biden doesn’t understand that.
