Cory Booker Is a Clown, er, Hero…Just Ask Him

Leave it to Democrats to celebrate the accomplishment of nothing. Cory Booker, the New Jersey Senator who hasn’t been indicted or convicted for corruption (that actually is an accomplishment, if you think about it, but then it’s still early, so…), rambled on about, well, everything Democrats complain about on a daily basis for 25 hours on the Senate floor and…accomplished nothing. In the process of that, and likely because of it, he became a hero to Democrats everywhere.

Booker has always been an empty suit – the perfect example of what Rush Limbaugh used to point out about Democrats: they are into “symbolism over substance.” Cory Booker is all symbolism and has zero substance.

With a voice reminiscent of a teenage girl whining about her curfew, Booker went off about everything Trump and Republicans. He didn’t list what or how Democrats would do anything differently—there’s no real need. The public remembers two years ago when his party controlled everything and did nothing good. We’re still swimming in the wake of that disaster; there's no need to remind anyone.

But failure is a virtue on the left; success means responsibility for their actions and policies, and they sure as hell don’t want that.

Booker’s speech, which you can’t really call a speech as it was more of a rambling about whatever flowed between his ears, was billed as a filibuster and cheered like a major victory over something.

First off, it wasn’t a filibuster. A filibuster is a tool that prevents the Senate from acting on a piece of legislation – an attempt to run out the clock, or patience of the body – but there was no legislation pending, nothing to block at all.

Most of the time the Senate floor, and the House floor for that matter, are doing absolutely nothing. They’re really only used when there is a vote or some special ceremony, not on a daily basis. CSPAN’s floor cameras are basically just Members of either body delivering speeches about whatever, mostly for the home district or state consumption, so they can be seen as “working” on something. Members can go to the floor and give a speech on anything they want. In the House, those speeches are generally limited, but in the Senate, as long as there’s nothing happening, can go as long as anyone wants them to.

It may well be a powerful demonstration of one’s bladder control, though it’s more likely to be a testament to the effectiveness of adult diapers. It is not a filibuster.

Still, it’s funny watching Democrats cheer what they lie and call a filibuster after two years of calling for the end of the filibuster. More than that, they called it “a relic of Jim Crow”! And Democrats have known Jim Crow since they created Jim Crow laws.

Booker, the spoiled kid of two IBM executives who engaged in poverty tourism by moving to Newark and pretending to be poor while Mayor there – going so far as to make a friend called “T-Bone” who showed him what life in poverty was really like. The only problem is he eventually admitted T-Bone never existed, but not until reporters started trying to find him.

Yeah, Booker is a fraud.

Naturally, the media couldn’t stop kissing his rear end after his stunt, appearing on Sunday shows where he got a big, wet kiss from fellow Democrat Geoge Stephanopoulos. George knows better, but that didn’t stop him or any of the leftists embarrassing themselves and lying to their audience because, well, it’s what they do.

Naturally, after the show the fundraising emails followed.

There have been 16 fundraising emails from Booker, the DNC, the DCCC, the DSCC, outside groups and even scumbags like Adam Schiff all signed by, or about, Cory Booker. And all calling him a hero for accomplishing exactly nothing. It'd be funnier if it didn’t work on people, which makes it sad.

There was even one from Schiff from Booker’s mother, Carolyn, with the subject line, “I’m so proud of my son.” Schiff only needs to raise money to use it to buy influence with other Democrats, as he’s safe in California from voters suddenly becoming smart.

Democrats have so little right now that a clown like Cory Booker can not only be portrayed as a hero for doing literally nothing, but they can raise money off of that nothing burger. It would be sad if it weren’t so funny and funnier if it weren’t so sad.
