I don’t mind politicians asking people for money, it saves taxpayers from being involuntarily drafted into funding morons and scam artists because you know they wouldn’t do it with their own money. What I do resent is the underhanded ways they use to raise that money – you don’t have to be a scumbag about it.

One of the ways in which these people try to get into the wallets of real people is by pretending they’re just trying to make you aware of something or gauge your thoughts about an issue.

From a sender named “QUICK QUESTION FOR DEREK,” the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee sent me a very important survey. “REPORT: MSNBC didn’t air Trump's speech because it’s not “newsworthy.” We couldn’t agree more, Derek: Trump’s hateful rants aren’t worth the film they’re shot on. But we need to know where you stand ASAP.”

If I’m a moronic leftist gullible enough to give money to these scammers, I’m pretty sure I’d be against “Trump’s hateful rants.” And if you’re a committed progressive, you’d naturally support the idea of the media silencing him every chance they get. It’s who these people are.

“SO LET US KNOW BEFORE MIDNIGHT: Should the media stop ALL coverage of Donald Trump?” the official Democratic Party asked without a sense of irony or fear of instilling a sense of terror in their members. (Fascists love this kind of stuff.) “Derek, for YEARS, Donald Trump has used the media to blast his hateful rhetoric to MILLIONS of viewers. He spread racist lies about Barack Obama. He spread dangerous conspiracy theories about COVID-19 treatments. And he spread deadly mistruths about the 2020 election -- even inciting an INSURRECTION. But as Trump runs for a SECOND term in the White House, we’re terrified that he’s going to lie his way back into power!! The ONLY way we’re going to stop liars like Trump is if Democrats rise up with one, resounding voice, and say that we will NOT sit idly by. That’s why we’re calling for 100,000 grassroots Democrats to take our critical DCCC survey before midnight and let us know where they stand on this pivotal issue.  PLEASE, DEREK, LET US KNOW: Should the media stop ALL coverage of Donald Trump? Thanks.”

Horrifying and real.

Democrats can't without silencing their opponents and they’re all too happy to openly call on their medial allies to do it. China is more accepting of dissent.

But they just want you to answer a survey, and that survey is every bit as dumb as anyone who’d fall for the concept has to be.

“Should the media stop ALL coverage of Donald Trump and his lies?” is the first question. “Do you CONDEMN outlets like Fox News and Newsmax for broadcasting his lies directly to MILLIONS of people?” is the second. Later comes, “Do you support our brave House Democrats who have fought to hold Trump accountable to the damage his lies have caused, including inciting a deadly insurrection?”

Pathetic.

Unsurprisingly, this “survey” is like every other survey sent out by any politician ever in that no matter how you answer, they hit you up for money in order to submit your answer. It’s “absolutely crucial” they get your answers, but they’ll only accept them if it comes with a credit card number.

At some point shouldn’t someone involved in the process feel so disgusting that they’d need a Silkwood shower? But they never do; they never stop or even slow down. It's to drop one load of lies and move on to the next one.

They send emails on everything – ones asking people to answer a survey about whether or not they watch Rachel Maddow is a personal favorite. “BREAKING: The Rachel Maddow Show just became the MOST-WATCHED cable news program in its time slot -- but we still have NO RECORD of whether you tune in!” asked one email from the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, in a bit of coordination by proxy that used to have networks insisting political parties stop using the names or images of their network personalities. No more, they’re all on the same team now.

I don’t care that politicians raise money, I don’t even really care all that much that they lie while doing it. What offends me the most, now that I really think about it, is that there are enough dumb Americans out there, created by our culture and education system, to keep Democrats neck-deep in money.
