Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer was handed a public relations gift in 2020 when the story broke that the FBI had thwarted an attempt by evil right-wingers to kidnap her. The media ate it up, blaming former President Donald Trump for inspiring the attempt by a group of white guys because Trump didn’t advise people to comply with their state government’s orders to stay home and do what they’re told. Democrats, especially Whitmer, have been dining out on it ever since, even raising campaign money off it. The only problem with the story is it wasn’t true, not that a lie ever stops a Democrat.
Now that the case has been tried, with 2 acquittals and 2 mistrials because of a hung jury, will any of the fraudulent creatures of cable news come back and correct the record? Of course not.
The real story, if we had journalism in this country still, is how there were more FBI informants involved in the case than so-called perpetrators. In fact, this appears to have been a case where the FBI hatched it, planned it, and did everything up to the point of executing it without ever realizing there wasn’t anyone else in the room.
It would be an embarrassment for the FBI, but after getting caught spying on the President of the United States, there’s no such thing as embarrassment anymore.
You’d think Whitmer would maybe watch her rhetoric now that what she’s been propping up as evidence “extremists” are out to get her has collapsed like a house of cards…but Democrats never change, and they never acknowledge reality when it’s inconvenient to them.

The Governor who became affectionately know as “WHitler” during the COVID 19 lockdowns, is a shameless fraud, claiming she was the target of a plot long after her would-be “kidnappers” were exposed as FBI sources. And when it comes to fundraising, the most shameless the better.
The last 5 fundraising emails I’ve received from Whitmer’s campaign are panicked rants about abortion. Maybe Democrats live in fear of getting pregnant to the point that it’s all they care about, I have no idea, it just seems odd that there’s nothing else happening in Whitmer’s world she thinks the voters of Michigan could possibly care about.
“If this last week has shown anything, it’s that Gov. Whitmer is standing strong and fighting for us,” her latest campaign email opens. “Her decisive action to protect reproductive rights in Michigan is just the latest example of her strong leadership.”
What was this “strong leadership” she’s engaged in? A lawsuit.
“Right now, if Roe is overturned, Michiganders could be forced to live under a nearly century-old, dangerous abortion ban still on the books in Michigan,” an email under Whitmer’s name reads. “The statute, one of the country’s most restrictive, says that providers who perform abortions are guilty of a felony. That’s why I am filing a lawsuit with the Michigan Supreme Court to ensure Michigan’s arcane abortion ban never goes into effect, even if the United States Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade. We have to protect reproductive rights and the rights of every Michigander. The threat of a future in which abortion is banned in Michigan and health care providers are criminalized is very real. And this lawsuit is the last line of defense standing in the way of attempts to restrict access to abortion in Michigan.”
If what she’s proclaiming as true actually were – that Michiganders want their abortions on demand – there’d be no reason to bypass the legislative process by running to the courts. Moreover, there wouldn’t be any old laws on the books to being with.
If Whitmer’s declarations were so popular the legislature would have acted already, years ago, or it would act now. But just like everything the left insists is popular or the will of the people, the truth is somewhere else.
The next Governor of Michigan may well be the current Governor of Michigan, that really depends on who Republicans nominate and what kind of campaign they run. But Whitmer’s campaign will continue to be one of lies. Her electoral fate may come down to how many field agents the FBI has in Michigan and whether they hatched the plot to kidnap her out of a desire to get her out of the way or help her.
