There's nothing worse than a pathetic adult. By pathetic, I mean someone whining about or begging for things like they have zero control over their own lives. Somehow, fittingly, the pathetic tone has become a tactic for the left when it comes to trying to get into the wallets of their supporters. They are literally "begging" you, or else.
Searching "We begged you" in my email returned 13 left-wing fundraising emails since just the first of the year where that line was used. "We begged you. We pleaded with you. We've been emailing you for WEEKS about how important it is to get our Turnout Teams on the ground in Georgia. Now we're on our knees: Can you spare just $5 before our deadline IN 1 DAY," opens one email from the group Stop Republicans.
"WE TOLD YOU that Republicans are spending MILLIONS to flip Senator Warnock's seat and take back the Senate. [1] WE TOLD YOU that Warnock is now clinging to a FRAGILE one point lead in the polls," they whine. "WE TOLD YOU we need to send our Turnout Teams to Georgia ASAP. But we need 25,000 donations THIS WEEKEND or we'll have to CANCEL our entire operation." If this works on anyone, they deserve to be ripped off.
The same group in February wrote, "We begged you. We pleaded with you. We've emailed you for DAYS about how important it is to ELECT Beto O'Rourke as Texas's next governor. We're on our knees: Can you spare just $5 before our first deadline of the month?"
In January, they said, "We begged you. We pleaded with you. We emailed you so many times. BECAUSE CNN BELIEVES WE MIGHT LOSE FOUR DEMOCRATIC SENATE SEATS: [1] Mark Kelly (ARIZONA) Raphael Warnock (GEORGIA) Catherine Cortez-Masto (NEVADA) Maggie Hassan (NEW HAMPSHIRE) If we lose even ONE race, Mitch McConnell takes back power of the Senate. Biden's Presidency would be OVER."
It's not just campaigns; it's anything they think they can raise money off of. Also, in February, Stop Republicans was using this tactic in regards to Social Security. Their February 26 email opens, "We begged you. We pleaded with you. We've emailed you for DAYS about pressuring Congress to add $1400 Social Security checks to the Reconciliation Bill. Can you spare just $5 before our midnight deadline to ensure Social Security Seniors get $1,400 checks?"
Can you imagine these people on a date? That might be the only place their begging is more pathetic.
Who reads a fundraising email and thinks to themselves, "I support the cause, but the tone is not nearly 'virgin begging for their first kiss' enough for me to open my wallet"? There are no more pathetic "please love me" letters ever written.
They've even dragged out Jimmy Carter's name to beg. On January 10, they sent, "We begged you. We pleaded with you. Jimmy Carter is PLEADING with everyone to pay attention and SAVE Voting Rights. So we've been emailing you - we're on knees: can you spare just $5 before our deadline TONIGHT to help us."
Say what you will about Jimmy Carter, but thanks to Joe Biden, he is no longer the worst president in United States history. Still, not sure I'd invoke his name to raise money or want to be even loosely associated with it, but at least he's no longer the worst.
This is nothing new, by the way. Between September 2021 and the end of the year, Stop Republicans sent 20 emails with the same wording and same format. It must work on someone.

No, I have not. But the caps lock lets you know how super-serious the situation is, doesn't it?
"We failed to hit our November 30th hiring deadline," they whine. "So our accountants just gave us ONE LAST CHANCE to raise enough money to hire enough staff to save the Senate. We need to hit 35,0000 donations by Wednesday."
They must have done it since that email was sent on December 3, and they're clearly still in business. They wouldn't lie, would they? Pathetic.
