It was such a good story, no need to check on it.
On Friday, Zohran Mamdani gave a presser where he angered many with his story about an aunt of his who suffered shame after 9/11 because she wore a hijab. Mamdani explained that the Islamophobia she experienced – involving people looking at her – meant she could no longer ride the subway, as was her practice, as if this was the major takeaway of the Trade Center attacks.
Well, our media ran with this tale, and it was left to others to show signs of curiosity and perform tasks, such as research into this matter. It turns out he has one aunt who is a Muslim, and she was living in another country at the time. Her online instances do not show her in a hijab, and her line of educational work actually involves topics forbidden by the religion. But sure, the anti-Muslim sentiment was enough for most news outlets to cover.

The paper from the city that was attacked works to defend the man.
When it comes to covering that Mamdani story, perhaps none were more supportive than The Times. We saw how he got emotional in telling the story, and how anyone questioning his tale was Islamophobic, especially Vice President JD Vance, who dared focus on those killed on 9/11, and not a phantom aunt ashamed to take public transit. The Times called out Vance, noting this was him "attacking" Mamdani, as he and Republicans "pounced" on the story.
Not hard to glean where sympathy and rooting interests rests with @emmagf.

Don't take their word on it, just trust them as the source.
The press continues to be bent out of shape over the White House ballroom construction. So much so, in fact, that keeping stories straight has been difficult. We have seen outrage at the cost to taxpayers, and at the fact that it is funded by private donations.
ABC News was even more confused. It declares that Trump is naming the ballroom after himself, even though President Trump has steadfastly denied this to be the case, in the very same article with that claim made in the headline.

That benevolent donor sure sounds like a real monster!
After the Democrats voted against keeping the government open nearly a dozen times, the party has doubled down on leveraging the pain of others by also voting against a special spending bill to pay furloughed government workers and military personnel.
In light of this, a private donor stepped up and pledged $130 million of his own money to see to it that soldiers received pay.
Glenn Thrush of The New York Times looked over this scenario and made a judgment; the Democrats blocking paychecks are not the villains here, but this donor is, since years ago he insulted a journalist from Glenn's newspaper.
A man steps up to see that our troops are paid by ponying up his own funds, as the Democrat party voted to close the government, and voted against a separate payout for workers and troops.

John Dickerson has announced that he is leaving CBS News at the close of this calendar year. If you are struggling to recall who he is, that is not a surprising reaction.
At the start of this year, with the departure of Norah O'Donnell, John Dickerson sat in as co-host of CBS Evening News. His arrival with Maurice DuBois did not excite anyone, and the ratings for their show were anemic. Averaging under 4 million viewers, the duo trails NBC Nightly News (about 5.8 million) and David Muir on ABC World News Tonight (around 7 million).
It is believed that Dickerson's departure has something to do with Bari Weiss's arrival and the shakeup taking place at the news division, but that anyone is actually concerned is a detail yet to be shown.

Reporting on the Mirror – MSNBC (for now)
There is no way that this is going to be beneficial.
The divorce is almost final! Known for some time to be arriving, we now have word that MSNBC's complete disconnect from NBC News will become effective on November 15, and the network will be rechristened MS NOW. (The acronym is for My Source for News, Opinion, and the World.)
As they have been bleeding viewership throughout the year, this relabeling will only lead to confusion for some and make finding the network more of a chore for casual viewership.
Beginning Nov. 15, MSNBC will officially be known as MS NOW.
