News Avoidance Syndrome – DEMOCRATIC PARTY
If there is nothing to see there then why are you all looking around?!
Democrats and the press seem to have a curious 4-year cycle of interest regarding our southern border. Recall during Donald Trump’s first term there was accusations of immoral policies, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez was weeping at the view of a parking lot at a holding facility, and Jom Acosta visited the wall where there were no immigrants to be seen, proving it was not working…somehow.
Then for the entire Biden term they pretended the border did not exist, all while insisting there was no border crisis.
Now during Trump 2.0 there is renewed interest as a contingent of Democrats visited South Texas to check on the situation, where it has been seen that border crossings have all but ceased. Of course, that newfound reality does not reflect well on the Biden years of record arrivals and it reflects all too well on President Trump’s policies since January. Thus, despite what would seem to be a newsworthy event, the press has been barred from covering the Democrats visiting the area.

Prose & Contradiction – CBS NEWS
Any thoughts on where she got such a crazy idea?
News has been going around about the female fencing athlete Stephanie Turner who took a knee as a form of protest when matched against a transgender opponent. CBS News, in covering the story, would not even use the name of the trans athlete involved, and stated that Turner was simply referring to an athlete “she says is trans.”
Turner’s opponent had competed the year prior in men’s divisions.
Race to the Bottom – THE CLEVELAND PLAIN DEALER
We are sure it was just a case of innocent racist photo editing.
After Governor Mike DeWine signed a new bill that struck DEI policies from state universities, the Ohio news outlet ran a piece on the passage, along with a photo of DeWine and some state legislators. They just managed to not include all of the legislators in attendance.
The photo the paper ran cropped out Rep. Josh Williams, one of the four politicians joining the governor. This was done despite Williams being a co-sponsor of the bill. It is speculated that it was a tad uncomfortable for the outlet to see a POC politician — and a conservative one at that — pushing a bill that opposed the revered DEI policies.
Reporting on the Mirror – WASHINGTON POST
At least he has his morning career to fall back on.
Upheaval continues to take place at the newspaper in the nation’s capital. The Jeff Bezos owned Washington Post has seen a number of reporters and editors take flight over the past months due to policy changes within its walls, such as the neutral act of not endorsing a presidential candidate.
Now, the esteemed Eugene Robinson is leaving, saying that he finds it untenable to continue as a columnist given the recent call to have its opinion pages reflect values like supporting personal liberties and free markets. So, we should be seeing even more of Robinson on “Morning Joe,” where he can — we have to guess — oppose liberty and capitalism.
Demo-lition Project – CABLE NEWS
Maybe Democrat disapproval can distract from the ratings?
Maybe we should rephrase and say Eugene Robinson will be “appearing” more, but not being “seen” more? With the close of March, we have a full quarter of cable news ratings to look over, and it is a debris field.
Between MSNBC and CNN horrors are aplenty – all while Fox News is enjoying more record numbers. At Fox, its primetime lineup has been doing so well that some shows performed better than network nighttime programming.
Fox is doing so well it has enjoyed more than a 50% increase in the coveted advertiser demo, at times posting a number in the category that beat the total audience at CNN and MSNBC. On much of the schedule, Fox had a larger viewership than the two competitors combined.
One major victim has been “Morning Joe.” While CNN languishes not just in third among cable news, but frequently loses out to The Food Network and even INSP which plays westerns in rerun, the MSNBC morning show has lost enough audience that its demo number fell behind CNN’s revamped morning show. Just abysmal returns for both.
Legalized Press-titution – CBS NEWS
We guess accidental starvation is a possibility with those who cheered hostage deaths.
How the press maintains such a defensive posture with Hamas may forever confound us, but it is a very apparent reality. Case in point, we have Leslie Stahl speaking to a former captive of the terror group who detailed how he had been denied food for long stretches of his being held, and she has the reflexive response to query if he had been simply affected by the terrorists not having supplies.
These would be the same Hamas members who has been hijacking relief supplies sent into Gaza, for the record – or more specifically, for Leslie’s informative benefit.
