Presentation Paradox – THE NEW YORK TIMES / AXIOS

  • Welllll…some conservatives were talking about it, so...

It has been nothing short of amusing watching the press grapple with the whole demise of the Biden facade, one they helped construct. Some outlets looking to save face have begun reporting objectively, while others continue with the pro-Democrat spin, and this leads to paradoxes and conflict.

One example of this dichotomy is in the conflicted ways the prospects of Biden’s candidacy is addressed. We have The New York Times looking at those commenting on him bowing out, and the paper falls back on reflexive reporting – it is chalked up to being a conservative conspiracy.

Then on the same morning, we get a report from Axios that lays out the plan and the operatives from both the Obama and the Clinton camps who are all working to ease Joe Biden off of the Democratic ticket. Hardly a right-wing cabal pushing out fraudulent propaganda.

Gilded Reframe - WHITE HOUSE CORRESPONDENTS ASSOCIATION

  • Once again, Biden managed to force the journalists to issue a clarification.

During the highly touted “big boy” news conference following the conclusion of the NATO summit, Biden gave prepared remarks, then announced that he had a specific list of reporters who he was calling on in order. It had all of the hallmarks of what we have come to expect from this president with his rare interactions with the media – choreographed and scripted events.

So, once again, Kelly O’Donnell  of NBC News, who is also the WHCA president, felt compelled to make a statement that dispels the concept that the journalists play along with this administration. We are not saying that her statement was effective toward that cause, just that she saw the need to address what is becoming very bad optics for the correspondents covering the White House.

Democrat Custodial Services – WHITE HOUSE

  • "We’ll fix it in post!"

Who is up for a little revisionist history? Following the meandering news conference, there were a few takeaways of President Biden hurting his cause, but the one most people latched onto and remember was him calling Donald Trump his vice president. As we have come to expect – and as the press has not utter a word of opposition about – the White House corrected the official transcript of the news conference.

Democratic Custodial Services – CNN

  • Ed? We moved past these lame excuses over a week ago...

What continues to be something to marvel at are the journalists who see their industry in a massive credibility conflagration as a result of the blind fealty to Joe Biden at the expense of journalism integrity, and yet continue with the very practice that leads to these problems. Enter Edward-Isaac Dovere, as he offers up the excuse of jet lag to explain away the negative impressions Biden has displayed.

This is not a weeks-old defense, mind you; Ed posted this last night.

Of course, Ed has no explanation for Biden showing these same signs before his trip, nor why they presented during the debate, which was nearly two weeks after he traveled.

Ed also does not explain how he feels that this blind support lends any credibility to his stance as a journalist.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – CNN

  • The reporters who knew of his condition claim the insiders never knew of his condition.

The very obvious fact is that we all saw Biden’s decline during the 2020 election season, and that has only bees hastened in the ensuing years. The press has been caught with their attempt to bury this truth, and to lash out at those willing to comment on the obvious.

In what has to be a tepid attempt at deflecting away from the press being culpable in hiding Biden’s condition, Jake Tapper offers up this weak-tea comment from an alleged insider to Biden. This person attempts to make it a well-guarded secret that the inner circle hid from all others. This is meant to deliver the impression that there was no way for the details of Biden’s state to reach the journalists. This is, frankly, complete garbage.

Reporting on the Mirror – AXIOS

  • We must assume this does not include the brave firefighters who stormed the beaches of Normandy.

We have always found it humorous when the members of our media class paint themselves into heroic corners. We frequently hear from them about how they insert themselves into danger and run toward the sound of gunfire, but far more often, we hear them complain about mean things spoken to them. Criticisms are “attacks,” mocking them is deemed “a threat,” and pointing out their errors or lies may place them in danger and probably will bring an end to democracy.

It is with this contradictory character in mind that we visit this entry from Axios. The outlet provides a column that once again strains to sell the concept that reporters were kept out of the loop by the administration. We are told reporters feels betrayed and bitter as a result of how the “White House hid signs of Biden’s aging.” Uh…suuurrre…

Better still is what follows, which sounds almost like a cautionary tale of sorts, hoping to prevent any unneeded criticism to be directed at these fragile minds:

Many are being harassed on social media for being too soft on Biden. In our experience, most reporters are more insecure than people think, and highly sensitive to how friends and foes see them, especially on X.
