News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS
Those who pushed the hoax are loathe to cover the coverup after it is exposed.
It has been a story brewing in Canada for three years, one that was kicked off with explosive results. The claim was made that government-backed Catholic churches had buried large amounts of indigenous children in a mass grave at one location, a discovery made using ground-penetrating radar.
There were questions about the veracity of the story – suggesting it was actually a community cemetery – but rather than explore things conclusively, the press ran with the claims that the Catholic church had a potter's field of native kids, and the outrage was instant. Fueled by accusatory speeches by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and other groups, the claim sparked attacks on Catholic churches across Canada, with dozens of these buildings – many historic places of worship over a century old – burned to the ground. In total, more than 80 churches were destroyed or vandalized.
Major U.S. News outlets, such as the Washington Post and CNN, reported on the existence of these graves. Few, if any, actually explored the nature of these claims. Now, it has been years since the accusations came out, and the Canadian government has allocated millions of dollars to the cause and the remedying of the effects.

In that time, not a single piece of evidence has been uncovered:
The Department of Crown-Indigenous Relations has confirmed significant spending to try and uncover the 'heartbreaking truth' of potential unmarked graves at the Indian Residential School in Kamloops, BC. However, despite the allocation of $7.9 million for this purpose, no remains have been recovered, and there has been no public disclosure of how the funds were utilized.
There has been mostly silence from the media outlets that ran with the initial claims.

Legalized Press-titution – MSNBC
In the latest episode of "Where Were The Editors?!," we'll cover the book release of "Say More," the new release from former White House Biden Press Secretary, and current MSNBC Biden Press Secretary, Jen Psaki. In her tome, Psaki claims that Joe Biden did not check his watch during the honor ceremony for the fallen Marines from Afghanistan, despite the fact that there is ample evidence to the contrary.
Associated Press photos show Biden doing so at least twice during the arrival of the bodies, something confirmed by fact-checks performed at the time it was a news item. Psaki called the coverage of the watch incident "misinformation" and now...has announced that she is having any future reprints of her book striking this passage from the text:
The text will be corrected in the e-book and future printings, due to inaccuracies as originally written.

I spoke with several of the Gold Star families who Jen Psaki called liars, all to line her own pockets and peddle a book that no one will read

Stealth Story Evolution – VARIOUS OUTLETS
You know that HUGE story they were covering during the week? Yeah…never mind about that…
Last week, the press was all energized and excited over the Stormy Daniels testimony in the Donald Trump election hush money payment trial. We covered some of the fractured reporting at the time, noting the ridiculousness of the hype in contrast to the flawed testimony and problematic character the adult film actress presented.
We now have a sense of how poorly her performance had been. Over the weekend, the same excitable news outlets could barely come around to mention Stormy's tempestuous testimony.
A journalism "tell" - look for what stories DON'T get covered.

On CBS' marquee Sunday show "Face the Nation," the NYC Trump trial didn't get mentioned at all. On CNN, only a passing reference. NBC relegated it to the final panel segment.
Doesn't bode well for the prosecution.
Gilded Reframe – NEW YORK MAGAZINE
A man picking a fight with a woman over what is a real woman makes him look like a child.
J.K. Rowling was at it again this weekend, angering people by clinging to biology and issuing common sense. The latest was over a British football team hiring as a manager a burly male who crossdresses and claims to be a woman, with Rowling refusing to play along with his delusions. As the writer adroitly pointed out, when challenged on why she cannot call him a woman, he has fathered three children.
Jonathan Chait felt the need to admonish Rowling and score signaling points.
Just call people what they want to be called. It’s basic decency.

Rowling, as expected, was not playing along with Chait's adherence to the gender games, and once she stood her ground, he was left blathering in a thread and linking to past articles of his as if they had any relevance to the discussion.
You may be presuming that I follow standpoint-epistemology discourse rules, but you're presuming wrong. In the (admittedly unlikely) chance you're curious about my view of that: https://t.co/rjO8OfRDqs

Low-Octane Gaslighting – MSNBC
The lack of invitations the candidate has received is all the evidence needed.
Anyone with a functioning brainpan can tell that the looming candidacy of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. poses a big threat to Joe Biden by leeching votes from the Democratic president. For reasons that defy logic, Joy Reid was on her show insisting that RFK Jr. poses a threat to Trump.
Uh…huh.
Two things appear to defy Joy's claim here:
Polls including Kennedy show him drawing support away from Biden.
Kennedy is not making regular appearances across the MSNBC schedule promoting him.
In smug talk about how RFK Jr. totally hurts Trump and not Biden, Joy Reid drags out the mass-murderer trope again: "Covid is the reason Trump lost because people went 'OH, you killed a million people!'" pic.twitter.com/TwCSr82F7c
