It’s Thanksgiving.

Cue the ludicrous brand of lefty claptrap.

America screwed the Native Americans. Stole their land. Massacred them. Thanksgiving in the US is like setting aside a day in Germany to celebrate the Holocaust. Same ol’ stuff.

… and then it shifts to more modern times….

According to the Gospel of Marx, United States wars of empire have left millions of people dead across the world in the course of American history, and they are still fought for the same reasons behind the Native American genocide and slavery: namely, to expand the wealth of the US elite.

Horse apples! Stop the world: I want to get off.

And I’m not even an American.

If a country could sue for libel, America would have cause to sue those who repeat these falsehoods. Nothing could be further from the truth.

I’m an Australian, and this Thanksgiving, I’m giving thanks to America.

I thank America for protecting the world. I thank America for making the world a safer place. For its leadership in all areas.

I thank America for being the greatest model of liberty and the greatest preserver of liberty the world has ever known.

I thank America for inspiring more countries to be free than any other, and for spreading more freedom to other countries than any other. I thank America for being a refuge to the best and brightest of other lands, when their own countries reject them.

I thank the American value system for being the world’s best hope, and for having a cure to moral cancer.

Above all, I thank the America for making dreams come true.

It is true that there are a lot troubling things about America right now. But despite the Left’s endless attempts to transform America, there are still many things Americans should truly be thankful for.

Sometimes a spectator sees more of the game.

As an outsider, I can offer a valuable perspective to Americans.

Being born an American means you won the lottery of life.

America is the least oppressive country on earth. It has given the greatest number of people the greatest potential in the world. It is the only place in the world where anything is possible.

It’s the only country that is also an idea.

It’s why millions of people every year try to come to America, more than anywhere else.

Americans should be thankful that mediocrity and dependence are still not in the mainstream of their country. Life still tends to be about kicking butt, not kissing it.

In America, more than anywhere else, you can be your own person. You don’t need to belong to anyone, or anything. Its spirit of optimism is uplifting and unique. Its faith and patriotism is inspiring to good citizens everywhere.

In other countries, even ones similar to the United States, conformity is cherished. Success is despised. Creativity is dampened. Freedom is cramped. Opportunity is limited. Faith is lifeless. Will is limp. Patriotic unity is a wish.

This Thanksgiving, Americans should repel the vacuous elites that seek to make their country like the rest. They should remember that they live in the greatest nation in the history of the world.

It must stay the way it has always been, for the good of mankind everywhere.

Thank God for America.
