Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan’s Approval Rating Hits 70 Percent

As Townhall previously noted, it’s good to be Gov. Larry Hogan. The Maryland Republican governor has beaten cancer, and has maintained high approval ratings, soaring into the 60s percentage-wise, in a deep-blue state. Now, a poll released earlier this month showed that his adoration has been kicked up a notch (WBAL):

Governor Larry Hogan's job approval rating now stands at 70%, according to a new statewide poll.

The Gonzales Poll of 809 registered voters finds 45% strongly approve of the job Hogan is doing, 25% somewhat approve.

The poll finds 18-percent disapprove of the job Hogan is doing while 12% have no opinion.

A similar poll conducted in January found Hogan with a 67% approval rating.

The poll finds the Republican Hogan with a 53% approval rating among Democrats, compared to 49% in January. Hogan's approval rating is at 94% among Republicans and 82% among independents.

Registered Democrats outnumber registered Republican voters by a 2-to-1 margin in Maryland.

Gonzales told WBAL NewsRadio 1090 that the poll results go against, "the yin and the yang of politics."

When a Republican candidate is adored by Republicans, typically Democrats at an equal level do not like that candidate, and vice versa, and that has not happened for Hogan," Gonzales added.
