President Trump tweeted Friday morning about Democratic efforts to impeach him now that they’ve gained control of the House, saying it only has to do with the fact that he’s been so successful.
“As I have stated many times, if the Democrats take over the House or Senate, there will be disruption to the Financial Markets. We won the Senate, they won the House. Things will settle down. They only want to impeach me because they know they can’t win in 2020, too much success!”
The president added: “How do you impeach a president who has won perhaps the greatest election of all time, done nothing wrong (no Collusion with Russia, it was the Dems that Colluded), had the most successful first two years of any president, and is the most popular Republican in party history 93%?”

Democratic Rep. Brad Sherman (Calif.) and Rep. Al Green (D-Texas) didn’t waste any time on the first day of the new Congress Thursday, introducing articles of impeachment against Trump, which revives their effort from 2017 to remove the president from office.
Other Democratic lawmakers were blunt about their goal to impeach Trump, as well.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib said during remarks at a MoveOn reception that “We’re gonna impeach the motherf***er,” referring to the president.
